Had nothing but trouble since I got a car from the Rotherham branch. I got given a curtesy car but that had to be towed away due to the battery. I have not been replaced with another car so iv had to use taxis for work which they are refusing to refund 🤔
This relates to Trade Centre and EMAC both companies. AVOID BOTH COMPANIES!!!!! I am disappointed in myself that I believed the falsehoods stated and I will never go there again.
I went to Trade Centre 12 months ago and initially was really pleased with the service and the car. I had gone to Trade Centre for a car as my other car had had a lot of mechanical issues and high service bills so I made the decision to change it.
I found a car and whilst in the room they have shiny posters advertising a warranty subscription that covers all parts on the car up to the value of your car no matter what. I was impressed by this given the history I had had and clarified as did my husband that this covered everything including tyres, wipers etc as I could not believe these were covered. We were assured that it was up to the value of the car and included breakdown so I signed up, cancelled my current breakdown cover, Halford Membership that gave me discount and free MOT and went away happy.
A couple of months in I got married and my card details updated so payment failed and Payment Assist sent me a letter stating my loan was behind. I was a bit taken aback given that it is listed as a subscription in the bank and was also sold as a subscription I could cancel anytime. I phoned them to change the details and I was told it was classed as a loan for the first 12 months and then could be cancelled. I stated it was a subscription and the lady on the phone said yeah we get that a lot but it is classed as a loan and if you cancel in the first 12 months the full amount becomes payable. This was the first inkling I had that I had not been told the truth by Trade Centre.
After less than 12 months and less than 3000 miles I took in for a service prior to MOT in March 2026 and got a call stating that brake pads and discs needed to be changed (all 4) and I would need to pay as it was wear and tear. I was dumbfounded so phoned the warranty company to be told wear and tear not covered. I said I was told differently and basically was told tough. I believe from conversations that I am not the only customer this happens to and is a regular occurrence
The pads were just above legal limit when sold to me apparently although the tick report does not state this but I do not understand how the discs need to be replaced however there is no record of the discs and the mechanic stated they were extremely old and had it not been for low mileage these would have gone months ago which I am sure the mechanics were aware of.
Therefore in total to put my car on the road again in March will cost £700 for the full sets of brakes and discs to be replaced plus the £700 I paid to Payment Assist and EMAC for their laughable warranty policy.
Do not use Trade Centre, Payment Assist or EMAC as they mislead you on policies that they refuse to honour and leave you with a car that is now not able to be driven unless I find another £700.00 which on one income is not possible.
I phoned Trade Centre to be told surprise surprise it was outside of their warranty but I could speak to branch if I wished.
Absolute perfect experience today.
Was made feel really comfortable by all the staff.
Millen, Johnathan & Jay have all been brilliant. They’ve really helped me buy a new car today and put me at ease.
Can’t thank everyone enough.
Really bad service bar one of the ladies ( thanks) was given wrong info over the phone. All I wanted to do was change my car for a) a smaller one, b) do this quickly as I am caring for two parents either side of the country… will have to travel as got to sell properties and take responsibility for financial affairs of family member and c) back in work Tuesday, no break till Easter, but will have to fly off to sort out properties and as such wanted a smaller more manageable vehicle for ease of parking as this was causing me an issue and creating vulnerabilities such as walking alone in an isolated place in the dark.
Wish I’d gone elsewhere , despite having a credit score over 1000, was left feeling terrible. It was all over a ripped proof of address and being in negative equity with current car- it probably was over priced when purchased or …Was left so stressed out that transferring money to and fro accounts left me in a right mess as were my bank accounts. Had no idea what I was doing in the end. Finally sorted after 2
1/2 hours over delayed that I’m not even sure about reasons why. Loads of we ‘can do this , no we can’t ‘, yes we can…
Note no ‘drive home insurance , luckily sorted this in the car park online.
Hated this experience. Will never return nor recommend, sorry. Buying a car much more streamlined elsewhere.
Truly awful!
Sales team was warm and easy to communicate our needs with regarding the cars and specs we wanted. Dob was our sales rep and within 2 cars he got us hooked on this Ford, and everything on his part was nothing but perfect. However, I cannot say the same for aftersales. It was slow and dragged out longer than it should have, with staff leaving the office and leaving us waiting 25+ minutes just for them to come back. It got to the point towards the very end, as we were sorting out the last bits of our very small finance deal, that we ended up not being able to drive the car the same day as promised, as their teams shut down at 5. So we were forced to go back on the 18th and decided it was not worth the headache and just switched to outright payment.
As the person who was driving home this car when the keys were handed over, I was not even given a brief summary on how any part of the car functioned, but it was a newer model car so I got the hang of it pretty easily. However, my relatives and I are happy with this purchase and are just hoping this car is not like the other reviews and fails soon after purchase. Also, we collectively would like to thank Keirah from collections for making the switch and releasing the car in a short and timely manner, unlike the day before. Also, 5 stars for Dob. We all loved him, and he tailored the experience to us as a family and never made us feel pressured to buy any add-ons or services.
Overall, we are all in love with this car and we hope that it will last in our family for the upcoming years.
Very helpful when trying to decide on which car, knowledgeable sales rep and very patient when we wanted to look in lots of cars. However the process from making a decision to actually driving away is sooo slow! 3 hours from the point of choosing the car to driving away. And there were no problems with this and it was a Monday afternoon so not busy in the slightest!
Does it really take 3 hours to sign a few bits of paper?
The worse experience ever!!!!!!!!!
I bought a car from these in September , by December the car lost power when a ebd reading was done came up with turbo,
Tried ringing life time warranty for it, what a joke that is, rang the after sale team ( lost count how many times I rang them)
Finally I had some one come out to look at it, the young lad had no clue but did say not to drive the car , rang the after sale team again and told them what I was advised, I was told it wasn’t there problem I own the car now ( which I don’t it’s on finance) it’s down to me to fix, I’ve had to go through my finance company , who sent an independent company out to check the vehicle, in the report it states the faults was there before the car was sold
I still have no car this has been going on since the 7th December and I’ve just had a phone call today to say they won’t pick it up till march the 4th
What a joke
They are all over you when you enter the building to look at cars but as soon as you purchase the car they don’t give a dam
Jay helped us today and he was extremely well spoken and kind. He helped us with any worries we had and anxiety regarding finishing off buying our car. Our favourite person from the lot we saw today, however all staff was lovely! Big well done!
I visited Trade Centre Wednesbury with a friend who had £6k cash ready to spend, lured in by their "up to 50% off" advertisements.
It turned out to be a complete waste of time. Every "discounted" car we asked about was conveniently "already sold," which felt like a blatant bait-and-switch tactic to get us on the lot.
Once the sales staff realized my friend was a cash buyer with a £6k budget, their attitude changed instantly.
They showed zero interest in helping her find a vehicle in her price range and instead spent the entire time aggressively pushing cars at double her budget (£12k+).
It’s clear this place is only interested in signing people up for high-interest finance deals. If you have cash in hand and expect transparent service, don't bother. To top it off, trying to call their other branches is useless as you're blocked by an auto-bot that refuses to discuss stock over the phone.
A total joke of a "car centre." Save your petrol and go to a reputable local dealer who actually values a customer with a budget.
I bought an MG HS 2021 on 27/11/2025 from the Trade Centre. They were promised that any issues within one month would be repaired free of charge. Shockingly, within 3–4 miles of driving to home, a TPMS warning light appeared on the dashboard.
I contacted the service centre, and they were given an appointment. From the next 11/12/2025, I also noticed hard gear changes (1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd). On the appointment day, I clearly explained all issues to the receptionist, and they were told to leave the car and wait for a call. After several hours, they were told the car was ready. The receptionist informed me that there was “no issue” with the gearbox and that the TPMS warning was simply cleared. When I spoke directly to the mechanic, he advised me to record a video as proof if the gear shifting problem happened again, which clearly shows they were unsure and had not properly fixed anything. — completely unprofessional.
Within 3 miles of driving home, the same TPMS warning came back again. This clearly shows the problem was never fixed, only erased using an OBD scanner.
I raised a complaint and was given another appointment on 15 January 2026. Once again, I explained everything in detail: TPMS fault, gear shifting issue, and dusty smell from the front demister. After keeping my car for hours, they again claimed no major issues, blamed the TPMS on an “electrical fault” (but did nothing to repair it), and said the dusty smell was because I don’t use the A/C enough. Once again, they simply cleared the warning.
Unsurprisingly, the TPMS warning came back again on the same drive home.
This is beyond frustrating. The service centre does not repair anything — they only erase dashboard warnings and send customers away. They clearly do not want to spend a single penny after selling the car, despite their promises. Their words mean nothing: “If there is any problem, come back, we will sort it out” — but they never do.
This has been a terrible, stressful, and disappointing experience. Very poor workmanship, zero accountability, and extremely poor customer service. I deeply regret buying from Trade Centre and would strongly advise others to stay away.
Poor. Poor. Poor. very, very poor service.
