Guys were acquired by the Nestle and eventually shut down as a standalone service but this was my favorite fresh and made food delivery company, to be honest. I know there are dozens of such ones but they always seemed to be like pioneers. When I was to NY, I daily made orders using their website and it was so convenient for me!! Now, the only thing I can do is to reminisce, because the company unfortunately was closed. What a pity! Hope developers will create smth really new.
Just had the freshly made from scratch, smokey Spanish chicken and chorizo. Very disappointed. My meal contents was, 3 wafer thin discs of chorizo, no taste, 4 very small strips of chicken and tiny diced pepper and onion. The almonds didn't really add to the dish and were more of a mouth irritant, may have been better if they had been toasted.The giant cous cous took a couple of mouthfuls to get used to. At first it reminded me of tapioca from school. The only descent thing this meal had going for it was the sauce. That was lovely with a nice smokey flavour and the right amount of heat. This is a meal I wouldn't buy again.
I'm a new Freshly subscriber, but I'm so enchanted by the frictionless experience I've had, and so taken by the delectable options I've enjoyed, that I'm happily compelled to recommend their service to anyone who wants a decent meal at a fair price - conveniently delivered with care and efficiency.
My first and only experience with Freshly has been appalling from beginning to end. I received a Freshly gift card from a friend and these are all of the problems I've encountered:-The gift card didn't work and generated an error when I was attempting to check out.-I reached out to what I thought was Freshly Customer Service for help with the gift card, but after a few exchanges I was told I had contacted the gift card service Freshly employs called CashStar. I was directed to contact Freshly directly. There was no indication that I had contacted the wrong service in the first place, I simply clicked on a support link that was provided to me.-I reached out to Freshly who first claimed that the gift card had already been redeemed. The support representative then provided me with order details and an email address for an entirely different customer - a shocking disregard for security which makes me very uncomfortable ever providing a form of payment to this company.-After I clarified that I was given the wrong customer's order information, the Freshly representative advised me that I would need to contact CashStar for help with my gift card, despite the fact that CashStar directed me to Freshly. Neither company was willing to assist me and both were just pushing me off to someone else.-After I pushed back against being redirected back to CashStar, the Freshly rep finally, for the very first time, asked me for details about the gift card.-All along, I was attempting to use the gift card on my own at every step of this process. Before the Freshly rep was able to provide me any help, the card suddenly started to work, though I had done nothing differently than I had done before.-The package was delivered to the wrong house. I had to go hunting down my block to find my package and take it from my neighbor's porch.-I placed an order for 7 meals. Of those 7 meals, 2 of the meals I requested were incorrect. My order was for 1 Wild-Caught Fish Cake (received), 2 Indian-Style Chickpea Curry Bowls (received), 2 Four-Cheese Raviolis (NOT RECEIVED), and 2 Unwrapped Salsa Verde Burritos (ACTUALLY RECEIVED 4 OF THESE).-In addition to all of these problems, Freshly is extremely limited in terms of vegetarian options. The food I ordered was the entirety of the vegetarian options available (plus one fish option). Literally every other meal they offer contains meat. And to top it all off, the quality of the food I received is no better than a frozen dinner available in the grocery store for half the cost.
This company never delivered my meals and still charged me. Said I should have called earlier. Customer service is in the Philippines and are no help whatsoever. Would not provide any refund or compensation. Still try to charge me for future orders that I never asked for. Worst customer service I’ve ver encountered. There are better companies that offer this service and I would suggest using them.
Everything arrived frozen rock-solid even though the packages claim they were "meant to be enjoyed refrigerated, not frozen." We put them directly in the fridge and tried 4 over the next 2 days--absolutely disgusting. My wife had two Indian dishes and said the food on British Airways was better. I had the Philly Cheesesteak substitute with watery mashed potatoes, raw onions, and a cheese "sauce" I can only describe as "unlike any cheese I've ever seen." Next evening, I tried the Chicken Parm and it was like rubber. We threw the rest of them away that evening.

The cauliflower noodle pasta dish and cauliflower mash are outstanding! Food is packed very nicely and food safety here is really good and important for this company. I am extremely happy with this food service!
1) The food is super mediocre, and definitely not worth the price. In my food, I have found a strip of plastic (no joke!), a foreign hair, and a hard piece of something that could have cracked my tooth (and that’s just over 2 deliveries). The steak was almost inedible; I could barely cut it with a quality steak knife, full of grizzle and fat, super chewy. 2) My customer service experience was horrible. The rep couldn’t communicate very clearly and changed her answers mid-call. The conversation was laborious to say the least. A day or so after getting my box, I was auto charged for the next one, but I was going to be out of town, plus I wanted to cancel my subscription all together. As a new customer, I was still getting used to the timing, so I called immediately to get that delivery canceled. First she said she couldn’t cancel the delivery because it had already processed (even though the delivery was 4 days from now). Then she said she COULD cancel the delivery just couldn’t issue a refund. She issued a credit, and assured me the food would NOT be delivered. But sure enough, it was delivered and sat festering on my porch attracting flies for 7 days—like a giant signal that no one is home. And since I was only given a credit, now I have to get another delivery of unsatisfactory food, lest I waste lots of money. And then I still have to call to cancel later because Freshly can’t set it to cancel after that last delivery. I wish I had never done business with them.
It's been a nightmare dealing with Freshly. There's been numerous problems, including receiving the wrong meals multiple times and sending meals with ingredients I put on my "do not send/allergy" list, also multiple times. For three weeks in a row I received emails stating that my meals were delivered. They were NEVER delivered to my address! Freshly said they would track down the address that the meals were actually sent to and let me know. I never received a reply.The final straw happened yesterday when I received an email that they were sending me six meals of the SAME ITEM (chicken Tikka Masala), that I did not choose or order, even after I checked "skip this week" on their website before the deadline to cancel. I never received these meals and was charged anyway.Their customer service representative was adamant that they will NOT refund my $77.97. They said they had no documentation of me skipping that week, and asked if I could send a screenshot of my cancellation! Really?I am referring this matter to my credit card fraud department. I only wish I had read customer reviews before I got entangled with this unscrupulous company. Useful Funny Cool
