I tried to get a cup of coffee for my wife. It was a disaster. I ordered a long black with a dash of whole milk. I wanted whole milk or half cream and half milk. I got a cold cup of half coffee and half milk. My wife was not too happy. I took it back and they argued with me that they got the order right but eventually gave me a cup of hot coffee with a dash of milk. The customer is always right.

Learned too late that Gail's are permitted to sell filled rolls out of temperature for a 2 hour period, i.e. fresh cold meats, cheeses, salmon, chicken, etc... and we are to trust that they chuck them in the bin after that time..
forgive me for not believing this,..... as I purchased the last filled roll available at Gatwick Airport recently, and was violently sick afterwards.........took me over a week to resume eating again...Terrible experiece.

(Canary Wharf) I frequent Gail’s regularly both here and in Soho. I’m always very satisfied with the baked goods. Previously, the Smoked Chicken Caesar Sandwich caught my eye and having built up an appetite for it, today I decided to get one for lunch. I believe it cost £8.95.

It was just a dry chicken sandwich on brown bread. The chicken was just lunch meat, there was no Caesar dressing on it, no Romaine not even a slice of tomato. No cheese. There was a bit of Rocket and some chicken lunch meat between 3 dry pieces of low quality brown bread, which I guess was some attempt at making it a club?

Not worth the wait, not worth £8.95. Very disappointing. I could’ve just bought a packaged sandwich at half the price. I was expecting something like a Smoked Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap but with some freshly baked bread. Gail’s product developer should visit an actual sandwich shop or walk 2 feet into the Waitrose right behind them and spend £3.50 on Chicken Caesar Wrap with Grilled Chicken, Smoked Bacon, Parmesan Cheese and actual Caesar dressing rather than charging £9 for a sandwich that doesn’t even meet the standard set by National Rail, let alone Waitrose, at less than half the price. Very disappointing.

Disappointing Experience During Late Lunch

I visited a location for a late lunch and noticed that while other customers received numbers and were served at their tables, I was instructed to collect my tray from the service area. I wouldn’t typically mind, but balancing a tray, a bottle, and my bag made for an awkward and uncomfortable situation.
This isn’t the first time I’ve felt treated differently at this establishment. On multiple occasions, I’ve been overlooked by a specific server while waiting for my order. After serving others, they chose to count and rearrange items, prompting me to remind them that I was still waiting.
I don’t want to speculate on the reasons behind these experiences, but it’s truly disappointing when a visit that should be straightforward and enjoyable turns into an uncomfortable and frustrating ordeal.

Exceptional service and quality bread

The team consistently provides friendly and attentive service. I consider their seeded sourdough loaf to be the best available. Although it is pricier than other bakeries, the quality justifies the price for me.

Impressed by the new location in Crystal Palace

I've visited the new location in Crystal Palace twice and was truly impressed by the service provided, especially by two staff members. The quality of the snacks was excellent. I asked for their names because they deserve recognition for their friendly and positive attitudes. I don't understand the negative comments; this place is a great addition to the area, especially with its unique hours from 7 am to 7 pm, unlike other local coffee spots.

Disappointing pastrami sandwich experience

The pastrami sandwich I had was the worst I've ever encountered. The meat was full of inedible fat, and the dressing had a chemical taste. I was horrified enough to request the ingredient list, and it was clear why! While it may have been handmade, it was loaded with chemicals and flavorings. I won't be returning or believing the upscale claims.

Frustrating takeaway policy

I paid extra for a dine-in coffee, but was told I could only use a takeaway cup due to theft of spoons. Very frustrating!

Excellent service at Wimbledon Village

The Wimbledon Village location has a new team with outstanding customer service. One staff member stands out as exceptional. The main barista knows how to make a truly hot drink, which is refreshing compared to other locations. Huge appreciation for the team for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere!
