I sold my personal Valorant account on Gamermarkt approximately one year ago, and since then I have not logged into it, I have not recovered it, and I no longer have any access data or information saved about it. A couple of days ago, completely out of the blue, I was contacted via WhatsApp by Gamermarkt and unfairly accused of having recovered this account.
They are pressuring and threatening me with legal action if I do not “return” the account, which I do not have, or if I do not pay the full amount out of my own pocket. They have not provided any clear explanation or concrete proof of how they reached the conclusion that I supposedly recovered the account, and they simply insist on their accusation. Let me make it clear: I am not responsible in any way for what the buyer may have done with the account after the sale.
This situation is causing me serious stress and feels like harassment, as I am being held responsible for something that happened long after the sale, completely outside of my control. I expect Gamermarkt to immediately stop threatening and harassing me over WhatsApp, and either present clear, concrete proof of any alleged wrongdoing on my side or close this case against me. If this pressure and unfounded accusation continues, I will seriously consider taking legal action to protect myself and my rights. This situation is becoming unbearable and is causing me considerable stress, which to be fair, i don't deserve. I did my part. Can anyone who has been in the same situation give me some feedback? Help me in any way? I would really appreciate it, as I don't know what to do to defend myself at the moment and I don't even know what to expect them to do.
This marketplace is outstanding. Just ensure you buy accounts that come with linked email access so you can change all relevant passwords and recovery info. If you lack access to the linked email, changing the email on the game account alone won't suffice. As long as you're mindful of this, it's the best place for great deals.
Accounts are frequently reclaimed by their original owners (this happened to me twice and to a friend once). The first time, they banned a first-time seller. On my next purchase from a more established seller, the account was taken back after 8 months, and the support team claimed there was 'no proof' of the issue and refused to investigate. Clearly, they have no interest in banning sellers since they profit from each sale. The only way to ensure peace of mind is to contact the original owner for help, as the support team shows no concern for customers. It's astonishing how this platform used to have a great reputation but has now become solely focused on profit, disregarding customer care. I’ve never reviewed anything before, but I sincerely hope others avoid this site to prevent similar experiences. I would give zero stars if I could; I suspect many of the five-star reviews are not genuine.
The original owner reclaimed the account four years later. Naturally, the support team took no responsibility. Buy at your own risk; anyone with the original email can recover their account indefinitely, which is a constant concern.
