The issue I have with Genoa is that they were not updating the national database with the medicine. I was receiving from them. Things were safe, and that's per them. They said that I only received my paying medicine from them. For the month of September and the month of January, which was not true. I received medicine from them January. November October, December and January..
The problem I have is that the manager of Genoa claims that I was incorrect and based on what he sees in the system or in black. And white that I've only received 2 refills, and as I explained to him that it's not correct. And the young lady that answers the phone knows that's not correct. Because she sends them to me every month. I became frustrated and extremely upset.I will not lie and became began to use inappropriate language because I felt he was gaslighting me by asking me, what did I want him to say. I wanted him to be honest and truthful. But he wanted to antagonize me, which only angered me more. Normally on my level-headed person and it takes a lot. It's a p*** me off. Good. But in this case, I flew off the handle, but I was able to gather my composure, but by then he tried to use that against me. And say that the young lady may not always mess up. Her name forgive me, but is related to my condition. If I don't talk to you or interact with you on a daily basis. It's hard for me to remember your name and I did apologize for that to her on a different occasion. And during this particular phone call. I had to have someone come to my home. Text me pictures of my prescription. So she can see that I indeed have prescription for these particular narcotics. This is when I call Genoa and spoke with M. Explained to her the whole situation. This is why I moved all my prescriptions two days ago from Genoa to another pharmacy so for the manager to tell me that they will no longer provide me services with any of my prescriptions because of how I blew up, that didn't matter to me.Because all my prescriptions had already moved. I really didn't care because I feel that they are incompetent. Note, even when I told the manager that I'm calm and I've gained my composure, and we can have a civil conversation. He still tried to use your using file language. And I no longer want to talk to you. And I wasn't using file language, and I was very mild. Humble, he still tried to use that for whoever was around him to make it seem as if I was yelling and screaming. Which I was not. After registering my test kit and packaging my specimen exactly as they stated, I could not locate my test in their portal. I sent an email, it took four days for them to respond. In the meantime I called them, they could not locate my test, and when they finally did, they claimed there was no return card in the box, which is not true, I made sure it was in the box and followed their instructions to the letter. They then claimed my first named was spelled differently on the specimen, again, not true because I KNOW how to spell my name. Four days later, STILL no information in their portal system about my test. I called again and was told it would be another two weeks to get my results, delaying my treatment and necessitating me to reschedule my appointment with my doctor. NEVER AGAIN. If my doctor wants any testing to be done I will request another lab and will not use these people again. They have zero accountability for the ineptitude and simply do not care about you.
I had a disappointing experience with Genova Diagnostics, particularly regarding their billing practices. They charged $2,000 for a test, which, given what I received, felt excessively manipulated for THEIR benefit, hoping insurance will pay that amount. Just doesn't feel honest. The billing department was disorganized, making it difficult to get clear answers or resolutions. For a company in the healthcare space, I expected far more transparency and efficiency. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. I would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious and ensure they fully understand the costs before proceeding.
I am super aggravated that I didn't read up on this company before I ordered a $400 useless test. I thought I had used them in the past but I mixed them up with a competent company (TrioSmart). I thought I was ordering a Methylation Panel which is what they tout on their website. Instead, I ordered a Methylation Genomics test that is basically gibberish. The customer support is non-existent. Both the live chat and the toll-free number employ rude condescending a-holes as "customer service" representatives. Had I read the reviews on this website, I definitely would not have used these jerks.
This company was the one used by a Functional Medicine/Nutritionist group and so I went with that. However, I wish I'd read the poor reviews on here first. My results were strange, if not impossible, and did not make any sense. The nutritionist even checked it out with Genova. I suggest finding another lab. to use.
I haven't done my test kits yet, just had a hunch to call them first and their phone support wasn't very helpful at all. I don't like their process, have to go to the hospital to get blood drawn, which costs extra, and then I had another hunch to check the reviews, and lo and behold here I am reading the facts! Good to know that others had the allergy testing done and got inaccurate or confusing results. So I'll search for another lab.
WOW!!! Same EXACT scenerio as people before me - quoted $450 cash price for the NutraEval test. Paid $179 out of pocket they billed my insurance $2000! They were PAID $414 by my insurance so they have collected $593 and are telling me that they are going to bill me for what the insurance states are my out of pocket responsibility! So if they billed my insurance which I pay ALOT of money in premiums then they are going to screw me and MILK me for more money???? The agent I spoke to at Genova also threatened collections and then hung up on me!! Will NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. DISGUSTING SCAMMERS. I will also be haunting them via and social media and report them to the attorney general for Fraudulent insurance practices etc. Apparently they were sued before. This needs to happen again!
This test was useful and suggested by my provider. I liked the results. Where it went wrong is the billing. I paid $400+ for the test but had the option to pay a wee bit less up front if I would turn it over to my insurance for processing. My insurance declined it and now Genova is coming after me for $2600. They ask for an Explanation of Benefits - which I provide. They say it is not sufficient and I start getting overdue notices. I am in a back and forth between my physician, insurance, and Genova that is eating up my time! I WILL NEVER EVER USE OR RECOMMEND AGAIN.
