Bought my Troc from Geoff Cox car sales and had a great experience with all staff I came into contact with. This is the second car I've purchased and wouldn't go anywhere else now! The service team have also always conducted my service and mots and can't be faulted with how thorough they always are.
I went in the other week just to have a look around as I have recently been in the market for a new car. I didn’t end up buying but I must say the young sales man Fred was absolutely excellent in how he handled me as a potential customer. Incredibly friendly, helpful and a great knowledge of the cars he really helped me make my decision on what to buy even though I didn’t end up buying at this store. Exceptional young man and exceptional business.T
!!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!Avoid Geoff Cox Car Sales – Absolute Joke.I bought a BMW iX in July 2025. Within days, it flagged a big warning saying “DO NOT DRIVE” and their own diagnostics logged over 80 fault codes, including permanent drivetrain faults.Instead of fixing it, they cleared the codes and told me, “No faults, come and collect your car.” They even wiped the fault memory again before sending it to BMW Derby, which meant BMW couldn’t properly investigate. While the car was with them, the mileage went up from daily personal use by staff. They also left their own internal job cards and diagnostic reports in my car, which showed exactly what they were trying to hide. When I found them, they chased BMW for CCTV of me retrieving paperwork from my own car. They even tried to claim they had an “independent engineer’s report” when in reality it was an internal Geoff Cox document. When I exercised my legal right to reject within 30 days, they flatly refused and even threatened to sue me.My finance company and broker now both support my rejection, which says it all. This is the worst dealer I’ve EVER dealt with.Faults hidden, car misused, threats made, rights ignored!!DO NOT BUY A CAR WITH THESE COW BOYS!!!!My Reply:Thank you for responding, but I need to set the record straight on several key points:1. “Fault-free at point of sale”– Your own Autel diagnostic on 18 August (less than a month after purchase) logged over 80 fault codes, including permanent drivetrain errors. These reports were left in the vehicle by mistake and directly contradict your claim.2. “BMW confirmed no active faults”– That’s because you cleared the codes immediately before sending the car to BMW Derby. BMW themselves confirmed they were able to see historic faults due to this. A car showing “no active faults” after its memory has been wiped is not the same as a car being fault-free.3. “Extended road test mileage”– The mileage increase was not from a single extended test. The vehicle was used daily while in your custody, consistent with personal use by staff. My tracker data confirms this.4. “Independent inspection”– You told me there was an “independent engineer’s report.” This turned out to be an internal Geoff Cox document, which is misleading. I note no response to this.5. Consumer Rights– I exercised my short-term right to reject within 30 days under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This does not require me to prove the car was fault-free at delivery — only that a fault occurred within 30 days, which your own scans confirm. Both the finance company and the broker have since agreed my rejection is valid.6. Reputation– While your Google reviews may look positive, this is largely because much of your trade is Motability (new cars), where there are fewer/no issues to resolve. Within the industry, your reputation is not nearly as strong — and this experience demonstrates why. It’s easy to look good when nothing goes wrong, but how a dealer behaves when there is a problem tells the real story.7. Trustpilot record– Your Trustpilot rating is just 3.4/5, with nearly 40% of reviewers giving you one star. Many raise the same concerns I have: poor after-sales, code-clearing, and refusal to resolve problems once the sale is complete. This shows my experience is not an isolated case but part of a pattern.I stand by my review. Customers deserve the full picture, not half-truths.COW BOYS DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
Bought a Motorhome from Geoff Cox Leisure two months ago and everything was ok until 2 weeks ago. when a component failed, not a problem it’s under warranty. They have now had my vehicle for almost two weeks and comms have been really poor/non existent. I actually went to the site yesterday and was promised a call back by 5pm with definitive information, it didn’t happen. I have rang this morning to voice my concern and not take no/don’t know/don’t care for an answer. When the person on the other end of the line got frustrated at my insistence on information, i was accused of shouting. it raises the question is the only thing above average at Geoff cox the price? I’m hoping not but from a customer point of view it doesn’t seem to bode well for the future.
Absolutely brilliant service from start to finish. I bought a new car and part exchanged my old one, and the whole process was really easy. The team were friendly, helpful and knew their stuff — no pushy sales talk, just genuine people who clearly care about what they do. Would definitely recommend
Called in on our way back off holiday to browse, Joe and Deborah showed us some Motorhomes and advised us on specifications for what we needed. 3 weeks later we picked up our "dream" motorhome with no issues at all. Would highly recommend for customer service and attention to detail
