Review Time
This is a big run around and strange. They took forever to get back to me. Once they did, they gave me a legitimate reason to reduce the price, which was fine. Now that it's time for payment, I am getting a huge run around and haven't been paid. Their tracking shows they have had my phones almost 2 months now. Other Company's that I have used were very responsive and quick.
It has been over three months since Golden Standard Buybacks verified receiving my two i-Phones and despite numerous communications between the two of us; I have not received any payment for my phones. Based on my experience with this company; I would not recommend that anyone consider doing business with Golden Standard Buybacks.
This is a scam. They stole my phone, and never paid me. I sent them my phone over 2 months ago. Once they received it they reduced my offer from $200 to $140. They sent me a video of a scratched phone with a poor battery health, but luckily AI told me to take videos of my phone before I sent it in. I showed them the videos I took, and they apologized and offered me full $200. Then weeks passed without a response. They keep on telling me they’re going to pay me, but never do. I never write reviews, but feel like the online community should know that this business is illegitimate and may steal your phone like they did mine.
I had my son’s old phone just sitting around and decided to sell it. This company offered the best price on the market, so I gave them a try. It did take about three weeks to receive my payout, but I received the full amount as promised. They were upfront about being a little backed up due to the holidays, and their communication throughout the process was good. Overall, everything went smoothly, and I definitely recommend
They have had my iPhone since October 16, 2025. To this point I have received $301 dollars. The agreed upon amount for the trade in was for $701. Have contacted them numerous times via email, text, phone calls, and online chats about the remaining amount that I am owed. I think they must screen the calls because it is very difficult to call the number of the business and to have someone pick up. Was told by different people that I will be paid by a certain date. Those dates have come and gone and I have not been paid. Even if this company offers the most for your trade in, I would recommend taking less from a more reputable company.
I had an old phone and needed some extra cash, so I decided to give this company a try. Communication was great from start to finish. They did let me know they were a little backed up due to the holidays, but they kept me informed and, in the end, they came through. Overall, a great experience—highly recommend!
Very poor experience however unlike some of the recent reviews I did get paid. Sold a mint iphone 14PM on 12/1 for $480. After hearing nothing for a month I was told they found scratches on the screen and frame and reduced the price by $100. Pretty interesting since the phone always had a cover and case on both but I accepted it as I wanted to get it paid and closed. Took another several weeks of me threatening them with filing for theft with the local PD and the Texas Attorney General. Many of their responses were along the lines of 'we've been out of the office let me check on that' with no follow up as well as telling me they were short staffed and having unexpected losses in their office. Eventually they made a partial payment with a promise to pay the balance the next day. When that didn't happen they admitted they were waiting on their next 'scheduled transfer' which I took to mean they didn't have any cash and were waiting for their next infusion. Jacob offered to pay me out of his pocket or I could wait another five days. I told them I wanted it closed immediately, and five days later I got paid. So not a scam per se, but a poorly run company I wouldn't do business with.
