Review Time
My kids were so excited to go on an open bus tour. We had a hop on hop off ticket, and assumed we'd be able to do just that. The problem was that after we got off we couldn't find the bus we needed to get back on! They have an interactive map on the app which we used, but it doesn't indicate how long the wait is at each bus stop, or even which direction the buses are going in from which particular stop. We spent around an hour trying to find a bus to take us in a particular direction before I messaged golden tours only to be told the stop we were at was not in use. When I asked why this information wasn't on the service updates within the app, I was informed they can't be expected to keep it up to date with every change. Everyone we spoke to on the day seemed really unwilling to help to the point of being unfriendly. There wasn't much audio info on the bus anyway - it was about 90% music - so we may as well have just got regular London buses. I wish we had done this and saved the money.
Our guide was truly exceptional! He brought a lot of energy and shared numerous fascinating facts. He made the journey significantly more thrilling and unforgettable. A big thank you to him and our driver for ensuring we arrived safely and punctually!
We were instructed to meet at bus stop 8, but upon arrival, we were informed this was incorrect and redirected. At the new stop, multiple people indicated it was still not right, leading to a lot of confusion. One staff member told us to board the bus, only for us to be asked to disembark shortly after—overall, it felt very chaotic and poorly organized at the start. There was also no orderly queue, resulting in people pushing to get on.
Nonetheless, once the bus was in motion, the atmosphere was enjoyable; it could have been enhanced by a staff member encouraging the singalong and highlighting the sights.
In the week I was in London, I've been on three different tours with three different companies and I've got to say I just wish Bruce was my tour guide throughout them all!! Bruce was an exceptional tour guide for us throughout my tour, making us laugh from the moment we got on that bus until we all had to say goodbyes. He was informative and always ready to help whenever we needed help. He always guided us well and made sure we were fine. This tour was fast paced, with less time in each area to spend, we had approximately 1-1.5 hours in each place due to the areas being so far apart and traffic. Windsor castle does not allow indoor photos during the entire visit, we were sad about this as we love capturing memories for the future. We unfortunately had an unpleasant welcome with the bus windscreen wipers breaking off on our way back home which delayed us by 6 hours. During this time Bruce ensured we were well taken care of and had something to do. This tour wouldn't have been the same without Bruce! Thank you!
I informed the service that my daughter could not eat gluten, dairy, or nuts, yet the cupcake contained milk. This made her feel unsafe about eating any food. We were told they couldn't guarantee no cross-contact, but I didn't expect to receive a product that included milk.
