As a first time buyer GBL, and in particular my solicitor Ross, were very informative and supportive during the process, professional yet friendly. Always kept me updated and everything was actioned in a timely manner. Everything was very smooth and all done virtually. It would have been nice to have a meeting/online meeting with the solicitor but I know if I’d have asked for this they would have offered it. And in the end I didn’t feel it was necessary as I was consistently informed. I would use GBL again.
Avoid. Caused unnecessary delay! Was recommended through comparethemarket. Communication was slack. Only received answers once I had to either call or email for updates. Didn’t send out a contract to sign and only found out weeks later, caused delay. I asked for them to be emailed. We signed them electronically. Then thinking it was all back on track after I rang weeks later I was told we had to print and post them as they needed a wet signature!! I asked for an address to post to and was told “you can Google it”. Appalling service. What should’ve been a very straight forward process (first time buyers and buying a house with no chain) turned out to be very stressful. I’d go elsewhere if I was you
