We instructed Gordon Brown Law for our first property purchase and they were excellent throughout. I would happily recommend them to family and friends.The whole process took just over 5 months, partly because we changed the property we were buying and needed some repairs completed before we could proceed. Despite that, the transaction was handled almost flawlessly — only minor errors, nothing serious.Communication was straightforward: it was easy to phone (though sometimes there was a 10–15 minute wait), use their app, or simply email directly. Overall, we were very happy with the service and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.
They lost my legal documents, asked me to send them again. I don't know how can i trust a law firm that cannot handle a few documents.Edit after the reply: I had a phone call with Gordon Brown Law earlier in the week, and when I asked about my files, I got the answer "I don't have it" repeatedly. It hasn't been explained to me what is wrong or what happened. Just "I don't have it." If a solicitor cannot tell the difference between "this document is not witnessed correctly" and "I don't have it" don't know how much trust I have for this sale to go through.
My husband and I had Lee as our conveyancer at Gordon Brown Law. He altogether dealt with 2 transactions for us (first fell through due to a poor level 3 survey). As soon as we found another property to purchase Lee worked quickly to raise the enquiries and have us complete within our desired timeframe. I never needed to chase for updates and would mainly get in contact to provide any update on our end. He was professional and efficient throughout - if we were to need a conveyancer in the future we will be requesting Lee :)
I was very impressed with their level of service and commitment to helping us get to the completion date as quickly as possible.
