Following a bad start with a previous accountant I made the decision to move to another accountant but wanted someone who understood the challenges that come with being a start-up. From the moment I started working with Gorilla Accounting, my life has been so much easier. I now have a clear understanding as to what my financials mean and know that the team are always on hand to talk things through if I am unsure. I couldn't recommend them more.
I’m an IT contractor and my previous accountant (who I was with for a few years) was doing an ok job, however there were a few things I’d get frustrated with. Response times and the inability to call up with a quick question (always has to be an email or schedule a call) were the main issues, there was no proactivity from them, then I also thought the software they used wasn’t great, meaning I had to maintain a bunch of my own spreadsheets.I searched for accountants and found Gorilla. I chose to try them out as I liked the fact that they are specialists for contractors like me, plus they have a guaranteed same day response policy on emails (sent before 3pm) - exactly what I was looking for!I’ve been with them for 6 months or so now and I’m so glad I moved! My accountant, Kinley, has been so helpful and proactive. For example, as soon as my VAT return was due, Kinley emailed me asking if he could prepare it. I then went on holiday for a couple of weeks and he emailed me a reminder - I wouldn’t have had anything like this from my previous accountant, I actually used to have to prod them to prepare and submit thee returns. Response times have been spot on too and if ever I have a quick question I can reach him on his direct dial. Then finally the software used, FreeAgent, is so much better. Very intuitive and clear when it comes to estimating my tax liability.All in all, it’s been a very positive experience so far and I’m very glad I made the move.
