Our Accountant Padma Gunupati is always very supportive and helpful. Every year working with her is always very pleasant, supportive and timely experience. She always sets the expectations with us and is very thorough in the process. The only reason why I didn't rate 5 stars is the back to back increase of cost for services in the last 2 years. I understand that increase scope of complexity with taxes can affect the cost of services however I would also think that complexity can be mitigated by technology.
Professional CPAs for any expat who is looking to file their taxes with a piece of mind. D Smith was amazing, professional, proactive, and always helped us filing on time. I've been working with D and Greenback for many years and they always delivered and met my expectations.
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL, RUDE, INCOMPETANT AND ACCUSATORY SERVICETotal waste of my time - right before taxes were dueThey wrongly accused me, 48 hours before taxes were due, that I am NOT a US greencard holder.They also wrongly accused me of being outside the US for more than 6 months On top of thisThey also charge DOUBLE what any other service charges. I spent DAYS working with their accountant Lini only to receive a rude, accusatory, inaccurate email from her accusing me of NOT being a greencard holder and also accusing me of being outside the US for 6 months. I had already supplied my dates of travel - which she was ignored. I had already supplied my previous tax return. I was not asked in a polite manner for my greencard info, just a rude accusatory emailWhy would I work with such a service?!!!! Immigrants go thru so much discrimination as it is!!!! Why would I hire an accountant who lacks decency and an ability to communicate in a professional manner!!!!

I have used them for 2 years in a row. As someone who typically reviews every line of my tax return, I knew that I was open to some deductions that are not well known but Shiva my accountant caught it and insured me that those are bona fide deductions. I think my account was working on the other side of the globe because I'd wake up in the morning and see more progress
Have used Greenback for 8 years, the last 2 we returned to the States. Greenback is an excellent expat service and I decided to stay with them mainly because of my accountant, D Smith. She professionally handled my taxes when I lived abroad, navigated the complex tax situation when we returned to the US and now handles our US taxes. The whole process is always seamless. Thanks D!

Because my US CPA retired at the end of 2024, I needed to find someone new to help with my income taxes. A recommendation from Move to Cambodia led me to Greenback Expat Tax Services. Because I had had a 50 year relationship with my former CPA, I had come to relie on her to do most of my tax work; I just sent her my brokerage Company’s 1099s, my Schedule C and my SSA info and she did the rest. So it is true that I was “out of touch”.Thankfully, my new agent, Shinjith, was able patiently to lead me through a long forgotten process. After my assistant in Thailand was able to locate my 2023 return, renewed hope began to arise. Shinjith quickly answered my many, many questions; thus, I/he was finally able to complete my tax return.Then, he helped me finally be ably to pay my taxes through the IRS’s payment system.Next year will hopefully be easier and Dhinjith has already promised to help me again!Many thanks to Shinjith and to Greenback for offering this service with enrolled IRS agents.
