The Harvester the George Morden Surrey . The George harvester has been at this location for as long

The Harvester the George Morden Surrey .
The George harvester has been at this location for as long as I can remember.
Having not been for a while my wife and i decided to give it a go in the summer for some lunch. We were pleasantly surprised with a relaxed atmosphere hot food decent portions and a great service .
So again for valentine's and not wanting to travel far we decided to book a table there .
The valentine's menu was a three course meal with plenty of choice .
We both opted for the tempura king prawns for starters, rib eye steak for mains , pudding I had the famous chocolate fudge cake with ice cream while my wife had the passion fruit cheese cake with strawberries.
With one cappuccino ,one medium glass of malbec ,one small glass of sauvignon blanc for drinks.
The bill came to £82 not bad at all .
The food was nice enough a fillet steak would have been preferable but they don't do fillet anymore .The young lady who served us was very polite and courteous.
They also noted that I was on crutches and seated us on the ground floor close to the salad bar.
The bill totaled £82 with £18 tip I rounded it up to £100 .
All in all a pleasant experience my wife was happy so a happy wife is a happy life .
Thank you harvester George Morden 👍👍

Delicious food and attentive service.

The food was quite enjoyable. Our server was courteous and accommodating, suggesting a steak that turned out to be an excellent choice. The salad bar offered a decent selection, though there was no red dressing available at that moment. Given the busy New Year’s Eve crowd, this was understandable. The restrooms were clean, parking was ample, and the staff maintained a polite demeanor. A minor issue was the absence of toothpicks, which would have been useful, but the team was apologetic about it. We took advantage of the kids eat for £1 offer and appreciated the rewards stamp scheme. All in all, a positive experience with great value.

Disappointing Experience for a Special Occasion

We visited a local restaurant for my daughter's birthday after receiving a call stating they had no toilets but could still serve food. We decided to go since we weren’t sure if other places had availability and didn’t want to disappoint her on her special day. Unfortunately, the food was unappetizing, cold, and had a rubbery texture. There were only a few staff members attending to the customers, despite the number of patrons present. One staff member was lovely and caring, but she seemed overwhelmed and requested assistance frequently. We will not be returning. It was the worst food and experience.

Disappointing Experience, Not Worth the Hype

I can't comprehend the positive reviews; something seems off. The salad station was nearly empty, and I had to request refills multiple times, with many items either unavailable or extremely dry. I attempted to use a voucher for a 25% discount, which was denied—this was a major reason for our visit. Overall, it was overpriced for what we received: dry, small portions served cold. I won't be returning and recommend others consider doing the same. Additionally, this location was near a hotel for migrants, with several individuals gathered in the parking lot, which was quite unappealing.

Disappointing Breakfast with Santa Experience

The Breakfast with Santa event in Eastbourne was a letdown. For £12 per child, there was no festive atmosphere or Christmas music. The food arrived slowly in small portions after a long wait, and by then, everyone had finished their drinks. The food was served cold, and the tea and coffee were lukewarm when they finally arrived. I found a hair on one of the eggs, so I complained and received that breakfast for free. One child received their meal while two others had to wait until the adult meals were served. A vegetarian meal mistakenly included hash browns on a full English breakfast, and they had to request its removal until they mentioned their dietary preference. The toast orders were mixed up as well. The children's meals were worth about £5 each, and the gifts from Santa seemed to cost no more than £2, including a flimsy drawstring paper bag, some cardboard, a crayon, and a KitKat – what a disappointment! To top it off, Santa looked quite young. Overall, the experience was terrible!

Disappointing Experience at a Local Restaurant

We visited a local restaurant and were promptly seated. However, the staff member then walked away. It took about 30 minutes for someone to come and ask if we wanted drinks, despite the place being quite empty on that early Wednesday evening. There were a couple of patrons at the bar, and although I considered approaching them, my partner advised against it. Eventually, a waitress came over to take our food order without any apology. My meal was decent, but the black pudding was a small, tasteless piece with a rubbery texture. When I asked the waitress to check with the chef, she just smiled. I requested some English mustard, and a vintage plastic squeeze bottle arrived, with the “American” mustard being nearly solid. The lid fell into my plate, releasing some old mustard that probably hadn’t been used in years. After finishing our meals, I went to the restroom, which required a long walk upstairs. I had asked my partner to order another beer while she got dessert. When I returned, there was still no beer. The dessert arrived, but still no beer. After my partner finished her dessert, we requested the bill. I mentioned the mustard issue to the same waitress, who offered a nervous smile. I then pointed out that the beer, which was still on her tablet, hadn’t been ordered. Another nervous smile followed, and we paid and left. Throughout the visit, we remained polite and didn’t cause any fuss. Restaurants like this aren’t expensive, yet customers expect courteous service and decent food.

Worst meal I ever had…

Prawns on shredded lettuce in thousand island dressing? No - prawns in pink water on a couple of lettuce leaves. The pink water splashed when I dropped a prawn. Once we actually got the right food for mains we really wished we hadn’t bothered. Jug of water please - we have no jugs, mustard? Ran out last week. No ice cream. Seriously very disappointed
