I strongly advise against using this rental service at Tetouan–Tangier. My experience indicates a troubling pattern of pressuring customers into paying exorbitant repair costs through a scripted approach regarding underbody damage. What occurred: I had reserved an SUV but was instead given a smaller vehicle, which increased the likelihood of claims regarding lower panel damage. Upon pickup, the car was parked tightly, making it hard to inspect the underbody thoroughly. The staff pressured me to purchase costly insurance, suggesting it was essential to avoid future issues, which I declined. When I returned the vehicle, they claimed to have found a small paint scuff that looked like it had been there before. They demanded an unreasonable repair fee (around €1,500) for this minor blemish. To justify the high charge, they insisted the vehicle needed towing to a workshop, even though I had no issues driving it back to the airport myself. Why I’m sharing this:
The damage assessment felt unjust and seemed like a recurring scheme: complicate the inspection, push for insurance, then “discover” a minor mark in a hard-to-check area and present an inflated bill.
Advice:
If possible, rent from another provider. If you must use this service, record a full video during pickup and return, particularly focusing on the lower panels and underbody, refuse hurried handovers, and document any downgrades thoroughly. I will not return to this location.
Avoid Hire Automotive Group (U-Save / Green Motion) at Tetouan–Tangier. My experience strongly suggests a scripted “underbody damage setup used to pressure customers into paying grossly inflated repair fees, and to push expensive insurance. What happened:I booked an SUV like car Renault Kardian, but they pushed me into a low Renault Clio instead (making underbody/low-panel “damage” claims much more likely). At pickup, the car was tightly parked between other vehicles, making it difficult to properly inspect the lower panels/underbody.Staff pressured me to buy expensive insurance, implying it was necessary to avoid problems later which I refused. On return, they “found” a tiny paint scuff (under 1 cm)** in the lower area that looked pre-existing.They demanded an unrealistic repair fee in morocco (~€1,500) for this minor mark.To justify the high price, they claimed in addition to repair the car needed towing to a workshop, even though it was fully drivable Idrove it back to the airport myself. Why I’m warning others:This didn’t feel like a fair damage assessment. It felt like a repeatable trap: make inspection hard, push insurance, then “discover” a tiny mark in a hard-to-check area and present an extreme bill.Advice:If you can, rent elsewhere. If you must rent, record full video at pickup and return (especially the lower panels/underbody), refuse rushed handovers, and don’t accept a downgrade without documenting everything. I would never use this location again.
Avoid this Car Rental Company in Morocco!I strongly advise against renting from this company. The positive reviews are likely fake or posted by individuals affiliated with the business. My experience in Fez was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon arrival, they charged my credit card £4,000 as a deposit, on top of the rental fee I had already paid online. At the time, I was too preoccupied with my family of eight and just wanted to get to our accommodation from the airport, but it later became clear how outrageous this was.The vehicle they provided was not only in poor condition but dangerously unsafe. The brakes were completely worn down — metal on metal — and they never answered my calls when I tried to reach them for assistance. I had to take the car to a garage myself to repair a punctured tire and replace the brakes. To make matters worse, when it was time to return the car at the airport, no one from the company showed up, as we had arranged. They ignored all my calls, and after waiting for two hours, I had to board my flight. I believe this was a deliberate tactic to keep the £4,000 deposit by falsely claiming I hadn't returned the vehicle. I ended up leaving the car with an airport parking attendant.Thankfully, I was able to report the incident to my bank when I returned home, and they blocked the fraudulent charge. This company operates in a completely unscrupulous manner. Do not risk your safety or your money by renting from them!
I recently had a terrible experience with HAG, a car rental company booked through EconomyBookings.com, that ruined the start of my vacation. Despite confirming a rental pick-up at Casablanca Airport, I had to travel 20 minutes away and wait over two hours for a shuttle, which wasted my time and added unnecessary stress. Upon arrival, the Range Rover Sport I had booked was unavailable, and I was offered a small Renault sedan instead—completely inadequate for my family and luggage needs. The staff suggested I could get a suitable car a day or two later from Rabat, which was absurd given my hotel reservations and plans hundreds of kilometers away. The entire ordeal ruined our first day and forced me to scramble for a last-minute rental with another company.Do yourself a favor and avoid HAG. Their misleading information and poor service are not worth the hassle.
This car rental company does not keep promises. We were promised that we would receive a refund of any excess amount paid for a car seat for our daughter upon return. They did not know it when handing it in and we had to discuss this with the organization. After many emails still no response. In addition, very unfriendly when returning. Also note that they charge cleaning costs, they calculate here what they think is right, this is unreliable. Don't book a car here!
I booked a small car (Fiat Panda) for £358.06 on 4 june 2022 via vipcars.com.When I arrived at the airport, a person from HAG met with me.When the person tried to lock the deposit on my card, the machine wouldn't work. The person proceeded to explain that i could not take the car unless I put down a higher deposit which would be returned 48h after returning the car.I had a 9months baby waiting in 30 degree heat in a foreign country so I agreed.I returned the car with no issue and the person confirmed I would get my deposit back automatically after 48h.After the 48h, I check my bank statement and see a total of £861.97 made to HAG. I asked the person what happened to my deposit, the person said it was already processed and that he would double check.10 days later, still no deposit returned, I made a complaint to vipcars. Interestingly, I received part of the deposit (£246.04) a few days later. When I enquired about the rest of the deposit, vipcars pointed out that I had purchased extra car insurance (news to me!) and closed the complaint. So all in all, I was charged £615.93 for a £358.06 booking..Needless to say I won't be using them again..
