My 4th visit to this cottage, and it was excellent as always. This cottage is VERY well looked after and cared for, and is always immaculately clean. It's well equipped too, there's honestly nothing more I could ask for, really lovely and in a great location, easy walking distance from the high street, pub, and the lovely common. Highly recommended, I'll be going back as often as I can.
Was great as said ppl where very kind place was very clean everything you need there i can't fault this place at all had a great 28 day break with out any hassle enjoyed every minute 5 stars all the way 👍

8 Cove View Apartments
A really comfortable and well equiped apartment in a good central location within Ilfracombe. A spacious, comfortable living area incorporating kitchen, dining and lounge.
Designated nearby parking was appreciated.
Very comfortable cottage in a good location. Hobbit theme was subtle without being too cheesy. Lots to do in the area even if the weather not good. Westward Ho! and Bideford walkable from cottage. I believe the SW Coast path is vey close too, but was just too wet for us to explore this, it being February and all.
We stayed in Angelica 1. The beautiful quiet surrounding and hassle free check in was great.
The place its self was clean, tidy and well equipped with everything you need for your stay. The hot tub was a great added extra that we made full use of. The only down side we found was the 'sofa' in the living room wasn't comfortable, relaxing in the evening, with the smart tv, wasn't as enjoyable when you didnt had a comfortable cosy sofa to do that on.
Holiday Cottages currently has nearly 100,00 reviews on Trustpilot. Every single one of those is marked as "unprompted".
What does that mean? You would think it would mean the Holiday Cottages does not invite customers to leave reviews. But that's not true. Holiday Cottages says that it invites all of its customers to leave a review after their holiday.
This suggests that the term "unprompted" is meaningless. Some of the reviews will be made without invitation but others will be as a result of an invitation.
Trustpilot's website says that " unprompted reviews are reviews written without a direct invitation tied to a specific transaction". Despite this, Trustpilot refuses to act, leaving readers in the dark about the true nature of the reviews and whether reviews have been incentives or invitations have ben 'gated' and only sent to people who are unlikely to complain.
The cottage is very nice, with all modern amenities you'd expect. As advertised the stairs to the second floor are not for everyone, but we managed just fine. Could do we some draft proofing when it's the winter months. Loading and unloading was not easy with the dedicated car park being closed currently (FEB2026), you're either carrying everything from the top car parks or risking parking on double yellows and blocking the road at the bottom.
Beautiful cottage. Warm, spotlessly clean, spacious & comfortable. Helen was very welcoming and helpful. Great facilities- having a washing machine and tumble drier was a huge bonus, especially with our towel usage for the hot tub. Hot tub is excellent. Garden was secure for our large dog, lovely areas to walk close
by. Highly recommended- we will be back!
I had to book the property last minute, the day before I needed to find somewhere to stay. I found a property on line but had to phone as it was a booking for the next day. The girl on the phone was very polite and helpful in speaking to the owner and explaining my predicament while I hung on the phone, it was all confirmed very quickly. The property was lovely and matched its advertising. The whole process from booking to the stay was faultless.
