Review Time
I've been using Hover.com for domain registration and management for the past three years, and I have to say, I was genuinely surprised to see all those 1-star reviews floating around online—my experience has been nothing short of fantastic from start to finish! As someone who manages multiple websites for personal and business projects, Hover has made the entire process seamless, reliable, and hassle-free. Let me break down why they've earned every bit of this 5-star rating from me.First off, their user interface is incredibly intuitive and clean—no cluttered dashboards or confusing navigation like I've dealt with elsewhere. Registering a new domain takes just minutes; you search, select, and checkout without any aggressive upsells or hidden fees popping up to derail you. They include free WHOIS privacy protection with every domain, which is a huge plus for keeping my personal info safe from spammers and scammers—something that's often an extra charge with other registrars.Pricing is straightforward and competitive, especially for .com, .net, and other popular extensions, and I appreciate how transparent they are about renewals with no surprise hikes. Transferring domains in or out is a breeze; I moved over a few from another provider, and their support team guided me through it effortlessly via chat and email, responding within hours every time. Speaking of support, their customer service is top-notch—knowledgeable, friendly, and actually helpful, not just scripted responses. I've had zero downtime or issues with DNS management, and their email hosting add-on is simple to set up with reliable delivery and spam filtering.Hover also stands out for its privacy focus and no-nonsense approach; they don't bombard you with ads or try to sell you unrelated services, which keeps things professional and efficient. Overall, they've handled everything from custom domain emails to quick renewals flawlessly, saving me time and stress. If you're on the fence because of those negative reviews, give Hover a shot—I promise you won't be disappointed. They're my go-to registrar now, and I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a straightforward, dependable domain service. 5 stars all the way!
Hover is exceptionally awful. The app doesn't work effectively (links are broken, instructions unclear and challenging to follow, doesn't generate home model as promised). I did find a lot more descriptions of their poor performance online and I have to join the voices telling the truth about this product. My insurance company is forcing me to use them for a policy and it is a nightmare. Their customer service was rude and dismissive, gave me no help whatsoever. I wonder if they can't get real users and have figured this out as a way to get to people. It's a nightmare.
Started out so long ago with Hover they called themselves Netidentity. Over the years, one disappointment after another:1. recently instituted or enforced a limit of 10 -12 emails on a "chain." (Previously i was able to send to all the groups i needed to reach and my largest is like 150.)2. spam screening of incoming e-mails is among the worst and best described as oafish. (you can reclassify as "not spam" and the next e-mail from that sender will go back to spam. Even when i reported this issue to customer service they did nothing in keeping with the companies' strategy to exploit the end user without providing a satisfactory solution. AVOID Hover at all cost unless you enjoy being tortured by unresponsive dumb a$$es!All in all, do some research and find a more customer oriented solution as this one seems managed by those who were made to wear "dunce" hats when they were in grammar school. I don't want to give up my e-mail address and pray Hover Mail will be sold to a more responsive/competent entity. If starting out, you would need your head examined to go with Hover over Gmail.
What a complete joke of a company. I bought a domain, got a confirmation. Then my account was got frozen?I called customer service, and they told me that there are some discrepancies. I asked what it was and how we can resolve it -- they told me that they are a private company so they cannot disclose. Rudest experience I've ever had.
Their domain url forwarding only works for basic http:// which is useless as most browsers connect securely using https://. This means users typing in the domain name do not get redirected. I've raised this with the support team and TuCows but nobody is fixing the issue despite me hosting multiple domains with them.
