After being offered a position of an enhanced security officer I started the process of being vetted

After being offered a position of an enhanced security officer I started the process of being vetted for the job.

Initially I was told to make sure everything was done within 10 days, which was fine.  The long-winded process was completed and copies of all relevant documents sent as required.

I had retired from my job and lived off my pension for 6 months before finding another job (my choice).  This break in employment was a nightmare for them as they insisted I explained what I had been doing for 6 months.  The word retirement was the clue.

The final straw came when they asked me to see a solicitor or justice of peace and get a form signed confirming I had a break in my career for 6 months.  How a stranger would know this, I don't know.

I then withdrew my acceptance of the position.

Moral to the story:  Don't employ an incompetent outside agency who ask stupid questions and don't understand what you do when you retire!

I obviously dodged that bullet and glad I didn't start working for them.

Previous feedback suggests this isn't the first time they have been totally unreasonable with vetting new candidates.

Employee Review:

Employee Review:The company would greatly benefit from restoring genuine dialogue with its employees, who are, after all, the core of its operations. Unfortunately, there is a clear lack of listening, and communication is often impossible. The HR and scheduling departments appear to be seriously lacking in professionalism, with evident organizational and competency issues: difficulty structuring even a simple email and an inability to provide clear answers to basic questions.Employees receive no benefits whatsoever: no year-end bonus, no replacement bonus, no recognition for availability or attendance. Overtime is systematically avoided in favor of excessive subcontracting, which significantly demotivates the teams on the ground. The company appears to be driven solely by financial objectives, with no positive return for its frontline employees. At present, this way of operating is disappointing and completely out of step with the values one would expect in the 21st century.

Joining MI5 would have been easier.

After being informed that I been successful for a position as an Enhanced Security Officer, I was put through the onboarding procedure and referred to another company for screening and vetting. After filling out a long application and attaching documents to prove my Identity, employment history, and going a through facial recognition, I submitted the form. I then received emails asking me to provide prove of income for two occasions i was in between jobs by submitting HMRC records for those periods, Which I did. They requested this several times, and each time I sent the same forms , which became an annoyance. They then emailed requesting the last 5 years of HMRC records to prove employment, which I found totally unreasonable as they had the names, address and HR contact details of my previous employers, as well as documentation proving this employment. After a month of this email tennis, they wrote to inform me that they were no longer proceeding with my employment. This company wants to obtain more and more personal details online, and make you complete various online training courses before you have even met anyone who represents the company, or started employment.Don't waste your time, even if the money looks too good to be true.

Good company

Yes, I can work under pressure. Working under pressure is one of the things I had to learn over time. I used to find it uncomfortable when I started. But in my current position as the Team Lead of Logistics, I'm often faced with a series of high-pressure situations where I'm needed to work under pressure
