Review Time
I have no choice a lot of time but to use an Ionity charger in Circle k Athlone. It never fails but to frustrate me on accepting payment, on charging speed and on cost. If Tesla chargers are the gold standard, Ionity is the other end of the spectrum. Their system is clunky, unreliable and expensive as well as being slow. That my EU tax euros go to fund this incompetent company just adds insult to injury!
Ionity invented the app where once you register a credit card, you cannot change it and are invited to call customer support. Maybe there's a correlation with the fact that in their charging stations, about half the chargers seem to be broken every time I try to charge. A shoutout to their members BMW, VW, Mercedes and Ford for a properly bad customer experience.
Absolute garbage. 50kws if lucky. Call support and they blame the weather 🤯 6 other cars (all different manufacturers) all charging same low rate. Charge premium for a supposedly fast charging rate and deliver slow charging and terrible support
First the positives: when I am able to charge, the charging is smooth and fast.The main problems are finding working and available charges:1) Chargers are not working and non-working chargers don't appear to be fixed quickly. In one site (Stoke-on-Trent), I believe the charger hasn't been working for over a year. I stopped at another charger (Walshall) on 2nd January 2025 and found half the chargers in operative. I do not understand why Ionity doesn't maintain its network. May be they just don't want to be in the business of providing high speed public charging.2) With so few chargers, there are times where drivers attempt to charge to 100% and block chargers for over an hour. I observed a 300kWh Charger being blocked by an Audi which was charging at 7kWh.
Don’t use this company Excellent till there’s a problem Then they havent a clue Had my £ 40 pending for 4 days now And have asked for a further 48 hours to sort this Machine was broke but it took £ 40 Basically they haven’t a clue Had myAll they say is email us How hard can it be to cancel a pending amount
Went to charge my car in Bromborough Wirral. Attempted to use one of the eight chargers having to pay £40 pre authorised, it didn’t work, nor did the other two I tried. It be had £120 of pending transactions from my account for days. Awful
