Many thanks for this opportunity to tell you my thoughts on the hearing aids recently received. They arrived within a couple of weeks following order, which is not bad. When I unpacked them and had a good look including reading through the instructions (I have never had hearing aids before), I wanted to try them immediately. I selected what I believed to be the right earpads (the little plastic 'cups' that attach to the bit that goes into the ear), switched them on and went to insert the first one into my ear.I nearly deafened myself with feedback! The screech as it went close to my ear was very loud and not a nice experience. I looked at the volume controls and discovered that they were pre-set at close to maximum! :0(I turned them right down with the handy little screwdriver and tried again, a little more cautiously this time. No feedback the second time - and I must admit, I was quite in awe of the volume and clarity of speech coming from my partner and that of the TV. Very impressed, overall. My only slight criticism is that there is an ongoing background 'whooshing' sound, slightly similar to that heard when standing in a conservatory with a plastic roof and it's raining heavily. I have tried changing the earpads (the cup thing) to no avail. Am I perhaps still doing something wrong? I have followed the instructions to the letter and am still getting used to them. Hope to hear from you soon.Kind regards, Vincent T. Spangenberg
After hesitating about buying these hearing aids I finally sent my order in. They came within the week & they were really easy to set up. I can now hear everything really well. I have to turn the volume of the T.V down & when I go out I can hear what everyone says. They are a really good buy.
Hearing aid is quite effective it does take time to adjust to get full effect. My husband only uses the one as zero hearing in left ear so does not warrant one in there. We received two sets in error as it sometimes happens for some reason but costly to return apparently so we opted to keep them to have one spare. Sarah has been very helpful on all queries I have sent and her advice was excellent too. After using the hearing aid for 10 days im afraid to say the hearing aid is causing discomfort in the ear despite using different domes for comfort as can't find the right one and to avoid the echo of own voice as a background noise. I have had to revert back to my NHS hearing aid as being realistic after hearing loss not sure what miracle hearing aid will ever do a 100% job. As everyone who has a hearing issue is an individual what suits one person wont suit another.
A good product that is definitely worth the small cost compared to high street prices. Would have got five stars but be aware they are quite large for the ear canal. This may be because previously I had behind the ear ones. Very loud so need setting low at first then adjust accordingly.
