A very honest review of their courses

I am going to start this long review off by saying this company is real and they do provide you a course and help you get a job. However, there are some key things to know, and I will break those down into categories of; Learning the course, coursework, final exams and finding a job.I also just want to highlight, which I will touch upon later on, who will actually find these courses helpful. If you can self-study, self teach and have the energy to look for a job yourself. This is for you. It's cheap and gives you a basis to work off of. However, do not expect much guidance along the way or for it to be quick. Also expect once you think you are close to the end, for there to be another mountain to climb, of yet more things you need to do before you can get a job. This does not take 3 months; everyone I have spoken to on LinkedIn and I agree it is 6-9 months full-time if you actually want to pass. With that said, learning the course. Half the material is amazing and really insightful, and the other half is AI drivel and garbage. It seems like they are moving away from the human thought courses and trying to make them all AI, which is a slog to sit through and will make your brain go to mush. However, the human courses, while they remain, are brilliant and will really teach you how to do your job. One thing they don't tell you is that when they release the first batch of videos to you, that is not it. There are 8 or 9 more. I got advised not to take notes and just watch and power through the videos to "finish the course on time", which very much took me back. This being said, though, you will learn much more than just what you need to pass the exams, and it will set you up for an actual job.At the end, they will get you to do a horrific exam, which you are just expected to pass, knowing all the material from each course and get 80% or above. It was stressful, and honestly, I didn't see any benefit to having it as it's only an internal exam. The coursework. It's actually pretty fun. Being able to put what you have learnt into practice in a scenario is pretty rewarding. I viewed it like a puzzle you had to write out. That being said, the guidance from the course tutor at this stage was pretty abysmal. Not having any way to call them and not understanding what is being asked in emails or taking a week (when the coursework should take you 10 days) is pretty bad. Some emails didn't even get a response. Maybe this is isolated to the Project management course?Again, after this, they surprise you with another exam, which is a verbal assessment to check if you actually know what you are talking about. They don't tell you whether this is in relation to the coursework (hint, it's not, it's a pop quiz). This being said, though, the course tutor in this verbal assessment was very nice and understanding of the stress it causes, as you only have 2 attempts to pass it or you lose your money. The actual exams. Before I get into this bit, I want to take a moment to highlight Lana as being utterly brilliant and super helpful throughout the whole course, but especially during exams. She actually called me to help with my worries and sorted out the issues I was having, updating me each step of the way. Without her help, I would likely have given this review 1 or 2 stars. She deserves a raise for the heavy lifting she is doing! The final exams, once again, something they don't tell you is that you have to watch 2 more courses and do 2 more exams before you can sit the final exam with the accrediting body. These were 2 courses (Prince2 & Agile) that you had already been taught. However, they are a must-watch as they will actually teach you to pass the final exams, which baffled me why I was given them so late in the process and not have them instead of the AI course, which was missing key info to actually pass? That being said, I passed both exams and can very much say what ITcareer switch is offering is real. Now, did I pass because of the material they gave me? Maybe 50% of the credit can be given, but you very much have to put in your own studying and research. Finally getting you a job. This was a bit of a joke, to be honest. The person who was assigned to help me was very nice, but I feel the process the company as a whole has in place is poor. I got a very well-paying job, but only off of my own by applying the good old-fashioned way and by having my CV with other recruiters. As well as this, their CV review is pretty sub-par. I sent in a very strong CV, and what I got back was a very simple version which had lost the detail and previous experience I had, and made me look like 3rd rookie from the left rather than me. They also say that they are putting your name forward to their contact,s but refuse to elaborate on what that looks like. This element really needs transparency, as it makes the company look like you are doing nothing. For the price, it was worth it.
