Visited japan...japan wireless made everything easy to access my wifi needs. Convenient location pick up and easy drop off. My second time using them...and both rentals were a great experience. Definately my go to for international wifi connections. Also way cheaper than using my own mobile carrier. Absolute recommend from me..Mahalo japan wireless!
Customer service was great. Very quick and professional. My only complaint was that wireless modem received was defective. It would hold it 's charge for a maximum for about 4 hours with the suppled battery pack. Forutnately I had my own battery pack, but that quickly drained also, leading me to believe that the modem was defective. Upon contacting Japan Wireless about my problem, they delivered a newer model the next day to my hotel. That unit worked out well for my last 2 days. I wished that they had tested my unit before providing it to me. I had to rely on my eSim that I downloaded prior to my trip as a back-up.

Fast and easy! Very easy instructions to return and the wifi was amazing throughout my whole trip!! It even came with an external battery that I didn’t havnt to use! Would highly recommend them and will use them next time again!
I like how convenient it is. It can be redeemed at any airport, and can be returned simply and swiftly in any airport’s post box. The wifi having no data cap is also true! Japan Wireless is truly worth it and recommendable.
The device worked seamlessly and was a great option for myself and my partner for our 9 day trip. The only issue we had was upon pickup, where both the WiFi device and the power bank provided had no battery! Thankfully we had some charge left on our own power banks. Other than that, it was great.
The device was delivered to our hotel and was already available upon our check in. The problem is it came with a usb type c charger instead on a micro usb. The device can only be charged using a micro usb. I had to buy a micro usb just to be able to charge it. I was not refunded for it. We were able to use it for 1 day. The connection was decent and can connect many devices. It would have been perfect save for the wire issue. Returning the device was easy because you can just drop it off at the airport. When we returned the device, I just included the micro usb wire so that other people will have no issue when they rent the pocket wifi.
Pickup was straightforward, but in comparison to the device I used three years ago, the service was underwhelming. The macaroon version offered a decent 10-12 hour battery life; however, the speed was unreliable and it would disconnect briefly nearly every day during use. It works well for directions, but not as much for video calls.
I rented a wireless device for my stay in Japan from January 1 to January 9, 2026. Traveling with my family of five, we were all extremely pleased with the performance of the service in Tokyo and Kyoto. It was user-friendly, convenient to pick up at the airport, and simple to return. I even misplaced the return envelope, but the support team was prompt and efficient in guiding me on how to return the device. I highly recommend this service to everyone.
