Review Time
I emailed in January 2025 for a rent refund, several weeks passed no reply, I phoned spoke to rent officer Michelle, she didn't apologise that nobody had replied and said they had to email UC first to see if I owed any money to DWP. I explained that I owed money from previous years but am paying back on an agreed plan with DWP.At this point she spoke about me getting back intouch with her on the 24th March and would sort a refund of £271.I rang back on the 24th as per and another lady looked at the notes Michelle had left on my rent account and she arranged a refund. 30 minutes later Michelle phoned saying the other lady didn't have the authority to arrange rent refund and AGAIN said she would email UC. At this point I'm really annoyed because I don't get any benefits!! This overpayment of rent came from my hard earned cash and was paid a little extra per month infront just incase they offered me new accommodation (bidding on properties) and I know they would require two weeks in advance... Now I need the money for unforeseeable expenses...Cannot believe it's nearly end of March and I requested the refund in January.
