Contacting the job center has become increasingly frustrating since they centralized their services. It was much easier to reach my local office. Now, I face wait times that can range from 10 minutes to over an hour. Although the call is free, it feels like a significant waste of time!

Despite having many desks and two floors, there are at least 10 staff members present. They halt your funds and issue a "sanction" or threaten to close your claim for trivial reasons, like not submitting enough evidence. Instead of informing you about missing information, they take weeks to notify you that your money has been stopped and instruct you to log in for updates. Communication with them is frustrating, as they often say, "this isn't my area to address, I'm just following instructions." As a young woman unemployed for six months, I finally found work but need support until I start. They seem indifferent to my financial struggles, as one staff member bluntly stated. The job center is meant to assist you financially while job hunting, yet I've received less than what was promised, sometimes leaving me with just £4.98 for an entire month. They also claim to help with job searches but dismiss you within minutes. Their partnered scheme is equally ineffective, with staff wasting time on small talk instead of guiding you towards employment. Overall, the attitude of the staff from both organizations is unhelpful and rude, prioritizing their paychecks over genuinely assisting those in need.

For a facility meant to assist individuals, the treatment I received was unacceptable. Many who come here are in difficult situations and deserve to be treated with dignity.
