Review Time
I backed one item only at this stage with a couple hundred dollars down the drain. Even tho the kickstarter customer services reps are responding in a timely manner, there is 0 solution to any of the problems, especially when you get no responses from your creators. Kickstarter started as a great platform to give legit creators a way to pass the hurdle of advancing their own creations but now it's a big clusterfck and all they can do is point to the T&Cs. I'm utterly disappointed with the lack of anything they can offer/do after money has been released to the creator. So many flaws in the system. I hope others have a different experience. I for sure won't back anything anymore as I lost trust in the actual system.
The whole concept of crowdfunding is amazing but I will never use any of the platforms again after being stung too many times. I was badly ripped off (to the tune of about $100 dollars) by a Trigger Point Systems via Kickstarter. I would like to leave them a negative review somewhere but that's seemingly impossible - scam much? My grievance with Kickstarter was when I aired my concerns with them they were less than no help; in fact, they were bordering on flippant! Just avoid, avoid, avoid! If you want a product or service that badly just wait until it reaches the mass market - at least that way you're guaranteed a shipment (and will have your purchase protected rather than effectively "donating" your money to a con merchant)!
As an employer this is the most incompetent service provider I have ever experienced. Made appointment with Kickstarter team, they didn’t turn up, found 1 candidate in 7 months, gave him the totally wrong pay details by £5k+ per annum and the Kickstart manager said can you not just pay the extra! Serious!! I could go on but what is the point they don’t listen and don’t care!
This whole website is created for scams, a new way to steal hard earned Money.I backed a project for the first time and that too with high priced item - TopJoy Butterfly:Pocket-Sized True Color DES Screen E-reader.Now these scamers delayed project from Oct 21 to Jan 22, and there are no updates. I strongly feel Kickstarter should have put some measures in place, they are just taking there cut and allowing scamers to take hard earned money.I will never back any project on there website and will never recommend that to anyone, pay few $$ more to any finished product instead of giving to these companies.
Kickstarter is the new way of making scams. I have been scammed a few times, with the creator running away with the pledged cash without a word. And kickstarter just sits there and pushes away all the responsibility. I get that it is a platform to back starter companies and stuff, but reading through other peoples experiences it seem like that this behavior if getting more and more common on the platform.
Not once but 3 times Kickstarter did absolutely nothing about fraudulent behavior. I backed up several projects but after these last 3 times I decided to keep away from Kickstarter. They just don’t care if you don’t get your products. Shame on you Kickstarter!!
