I funded a project that turned out to be a million dollar scam and Kickstarter won’t do anything or answer for us as users, on the contrary.The project was ERGOPLAX: The 15-in-1 Smart Ergonomic Sit and Stand Desk.I tried many times to ask for kickstarter to do something or declare the project a scam but they never did. Some of the backers got to ask for a chargeback on their credit cards with their bank but Kickstarter disputed the payment saying that “this is the risk of supporting projects on their site
I backed a rising desk product that never materialised. Worse than this, the project creator strung the backers along with "updates" until the chargeback window had passed and then radio silence ever since.Kickstarter simply do not care, and fall back on "not all projects will succeed and you signed up to that", which I accept to an extent, but the backers do rely on Kickstarter doing their job to make sure only legitimate creators are given a platform.
I backed an interesting project (my first) on Kickstarter over a year ago, and were promised the product by december 2021. I still hhavn't recieved the product, and it' clearly a scam project. But Kickstarter won't help us, the over 2000 backers of this product at all. They just tell us to send the project starters messages over and over again. And believe me, we all have, because we all put in at least $209...So do your self a service, don't back ANYTHING via Kickstarter, because you won't get any help if it turns out to be a scam. Kickstarter doesen't care for end customers, they only care that they get paid for using their platform. A platform great for scammers.
Be very careful how much you stand to lose with these people. Although most of the projects are run by decent people when it does prove that the one you've backed is run by scammers Kickstarter will offer zero support and will do nothing to mediate or support you in your loss. I've been trying to get an expensive heated G1 jacket for at least 2.5 years, dozens of emails and comments on-site, all met with lies and platitudes, no backup from KS at all, they do not want to know. So long as they get their commission they are happy. Whether you get your reward is of no interest! Be Warned!
I joined the Pollix Watch project. They should have been delivered in March 2020. Until today nothing has been delivered and they don't refund the money.All the people in this project ran out of money.Kickstarted does nothing. Don't want to know.Stay away from these types of projects.
Kickstarter's customer support is non-existent. When you do receive a reply from the company, it is generic and does not provide any useful information. They never respond to follow up messages.They will endeavor to delay refunds to backers at all costs, even when the Creator agrees to issue refunds for a failed project. Avoid Kickstarter.
