Assists with raising money for misinformation campaigns regarding COVID-19. They are aware of these shows that are raising money on here although refuse to take any action. They are indirectly responsible for the people who view these projects and either die or have chronic health problems from COVID-19. Terrible terrible organisation, do not support. I also have heard they skim money off the top and keep a large portion of the money from fundraising. Use facebook or alternative sources. While working here management was abusive and HR laughed at me and belittled me when I brought it to there attention, they also lied in the interview about pay ad extent of job, left very quickly.
Kickstarter avoids responsibility for fraudulent projects on their platform, even though they are the ones who will collect your money. Their Terms of Use claim they are not a party to the contract between backer and creator, even though they are the ones who write the contract, collect your money, and make you agree to it when backing a project. I don't know how this is legal, and certainly wouldn't be legal under EU consumer law. They should not be allowed to trade into the EU.
Prepair for the project to fall silent after payment. Been scammed a handful of times its like gambling you may win once but more than likely shafted.. dont waste your time kickstarter only cares about their share of the scam. Never replys never cares.
A good start for newcomers and campaign ideas, BUT highly prone for scam cases. As a consumer, if you support the project, you're risking your funding as to whether the projects are genuine or not. Overall, as a consumer, you will not be protected within the T&C of Kickstarter, and filtering on "Genuine" Projects are least at best, thus know the risk before investing into any project projected in kickstarter.Sincerely,
Even though they are the ones who will receive your money, Kickstarter avoids accountability for fraudulent projects on their platform. Even though they write the contract, take your money, and make you agree to it when you back a project, their Terms of Use state they are not a party to the contract between backer and author. I'm not sure how legal this is, and it certainly isn't lawful under EU consumer law. They should not be permitted to trade with the European Union.
AVOID KICKSTARTER AT ALL COST!I backed a few projects on Kickstarter. You will find a lot of projects that promised you the moon. Some that deliver - delivered very underwhelming/cheap items that breaks after few months. Most of the projects however, turns out to be a total scam. I lost hundreds of $$$ on a project Adjustabot that turns out to be a fraud and Kickstarter totally facilitated this kind of fraud. They just take backers money and does nothing to screen the fraudster or protect the backers.
Complete scam site, smart wording to skim us of our money. funded 1 project, which will be my last with them -- terraplanter - most probably they have their own team which works with scammers to setup new ideas with no intention to deliver on.
