KickStarter does not protect you

Backed a project a few years ago by Matt (guy on shark tank with the glowing toliet bowls) and the POS thief took off with our money. He made lame excuses about how COVID shut down China'distrubtions right at the Chinese New Year and everything. Constantly reported it to Kickstarter and Kickstarter has repeatedly informed every backer of this project that WE (the backers) are 100% to blame and that they hold 0% Fault or Liability for failure to take action when Matt was first reported to be scamming people. They say he has the right to do this and they have no legal responsiblity at all to ensure the creators using their platform are honest nor that they pledgers don't get scammed.BE WARNED and DO YOUR RESEARCH. Kickstarter facilitate scams and avoid responsibility

Kickstarter avoids responsibility for fraudulent projects on their platform, even though they are the ones who will collect your money. Their Terms of Use claim they are not a party to the contract between backer and creator, even though they are the ones who write the contract, collect your money, and make you agree to it when backing a project. I don't know how this is legal, and certainly wouldn't be legal under EU consumer law. They should not be allowed to trade into the EU.

Scammed by Kickstarter Projects

I've been scammed twice by Kickstarter projects and received zero help from customer service. I'd never touch another project promoted by Kickstarter.

Product two years late and counting

My purchased product is now two years late. Company not replying to any communications. No way to contact Kickstarter about it. They obviously wash their hands of any responsibility. Will never use them again.

Missed out on a early bird Kickstarter…

I missed out on a early bird Kickstarter on the website, because Kickstarter would not accept payment. Will use the app next time, but tough loosing out on early bird offer because Kickstarter wont let me pay.

Kickstarter allows scammers

I would give 0 stars if I can. They allowed a project to not only meet their goal of $50,000 but walk away with $1.1 million and not give a single product to anyone who funded them. They are openly selling their products in other businesses and kickstarter does absolutely nothing. (I'm talking Algobrix, Kickstarter).

Buyer Beware. Kickstarter offers zero support for buyers. If the 'creator' fails to deliver you have lost your money. Kickstarter will never support the buyer.
