I strongly recommend that you don’t use Kickstarter. They have no way of making sure that the projects you back actually deliver the product you paid for. I bought a Filippo Loreti watch December 2016 with expected shipping April 2017. They then said my order would be shipped August 2017. We are now into April 2018 and I never received my watch after paying 150 euros. When I contacted kickstarter they told me they can’t do anything and that all questions must go to the project operators. This platform has no guarantee that you receive your product and continues to let companies like Filippo Loretti rip customers off by starting new campaigns without completing the previous ones. This platform literally lets you get scammed. It’s awful!
Not recommended. Backed on 9 projects from a year a goreceive 2 items so far. kickstarter do not care about protect in any way the bakersso is very easy to get your money stolenor wait for a year and half (as me) for some projectsand you cannot take any refund or cancel.NOT RECOMMENDED
They took your money but when project that you backed got sideways they just don't take responsibility. They don't do enough background check of the creator, so even a scammer that created any project through Kickstarter can just scam people out of money then go to liquidation like The Oreous Pillow project
Kickstarter claim to hold no responsibility for the delivery of a project so as soon as your money is taken they stop any involvement and have no way of ensuring the creator delivers. This is now widely known so there are more and more scam projects that just rip you off and no one can hold them to account. Save your money until a product is widely available, if it’s good they will find other ways to fund it. Do not trust that because you paid anything will ever materialize. Most of theprojects that claim to be at a cheaper price than when they retail are talking crap and sell for the same price you pay on kickstarter. Only difference is that you save the frustration of trying to find out what’s going on and getting zero help from Kickstarter.
It was a great idea, but in practice Kickstarter has become a haven for con artists who prey on the public's good will. Up till now, I supported over 300 KS, but the last year has seen the number of legitimate enterprises plummet. While KS has the right legalese to protect itself from punitive damages, you have to see that the de facto presence of so many con artists who in some cases visit more than one scam on patrons through KS means that there is a structural problem with KS. People need to vote with their money and give KS a big pass until (or if) it cleans up its act.
Kickstarter is an organisation that racially discriminates against people. It allows pitches from ethnic minorities only for stereotyped sectors, areas or business ideas. Obstacles are placed in the way, unlawful & unfair rejections are carried out by the admin as a method of keeping out or discouraging many people from setting up perfectly worthy pitches that may be seen as a 'whites only' sort of idea by ignorant people.
