Fraud and scammer website, never use it.Pledge for project doesnt mean im donating a money for a beggar scammer that cant finished their job!We paid to bring a life to a new project!Kickstarter cant prevent any fraud because they working behind the scene with scammer to get their profits.90% of projects in the Kickstarter is a scam and Kickstarter cant do anythings about it.You will be feeding money to a digital beggar through this company if you ever use it. Totally waste of time and money!
Fabulous Service, but often misunderstood.Kickstarter is a fabulous service for start-up products, launches of niche items and so on and so forth - however, it is often misunderstood for a pre-order service, which it is not.Do not regard a "pledge" as a pre-order as that is mistaking what Kickstarter is - it is not a store for placing pre-orders.You are never guaranteed your pledge and potential backers should pay careful attention to who is running the Kickstarter project and whether or not their goals are reasonable and achievable. Most Kickstarters that reach funding, but fail to deliver any product, are obviously flawed at the start and promise too much, too soon, too cheaply. Also look for prior business experience in the Kickstarter Project starter and especially if they are operating as an extant business, or are doing something "part-time".Researching your KS project is the key to avoiding disappointment and losing money.
I pledged 25 quid to a project that just didn't go anywhere. A year passed and i lost all hope. i asked for a refund from both kickstarter and the project creator. I received no reply from the later and kickstarter just shifted the blame saying they couldn't do anything as all money passes straight to the backer. This confirmed my fears that the project was a scam and left me unable to trust kickstarter. If they don't take responsibility for creators, what is stopping people from taking the money but not following through on the project. This is a major flaw and a blatant scam. I will never be using Kickstarter again
Not any protection on Bakers, so easy to get scammed.I have baked a project for more of 14 months ago, they always come with an excuse, no money back and Kickstarter do not give a d*** about the bakers, I email myself several times without success. There do not care about bakers. So risky, I will never put any other cent on this website.
I am a superbacker, but the last years too many campaigns, that collected a lot of money, do not deliver.Kickstarter never takes any responseblity, they simply do not react on emails in which you doubt about the ' reality' of the realization of the products. I wonder if there control management is o.k. . I doubt if they really control the 'working capacities' of concept versions. Too many projects giev the impression that the development phase is complete and the product is a matter of (mass) production. Exempels: Kokoon, Superscreen, Dagadam, Earbuds Reinvented and one of the wordt of all: PHREE!! They collected over a million dollars and after two years of 'development' they simply said: O guys, we are so sorry, but we do not have the money for (mass) production of the product. I guess they had a great time as a developing team.My advice: AVOID KICKSTARTER, THESE GUYS FROM BROOKLYN ARE ONLY IN IT FOR IT FOR GETTING THEIR MONEY (WHILE NEGLECTING THE MANY, MANY SUPPORTERS
Thought this was a good way to fund new projects but after committing to a pledge and not receiving the goods I think this just encouraging people to scam you out of your money. They don't reply to your emails and when I raised a dispute with my credit card company they sent back a 4page document explaining that my claim was invalid. Their explanation is that backers are forming a contract with the creators and not kickstarter who are not part of the contract, which is strange as they take the card payment. So Kickstarter say they make it clear that Kickstarter is not responsible for the fulfilment of rewards. However after my claim was rejected my goods turned up although I had to pay a customs charge. Only 4 months late.If you don't mind losing your money then this is for you but be warned you may not get your reward and Kickstarter won't refund your money.
I know it is tempting to pledge for this cool, new item and get it at like 50% of the actual going to be market price. But after four years and more than 40 backed projects I highly recommend to not use Kickstarter because you want cheap stuff or heaving a problem with not getting what you paid for.First off: Kickstarter is a fundraising platform and therefore your money is an investment and not a payment for a product someone must then deliver to you. In fact there are certain legal Kickstarter rules creators are advices to follow, but: I have seen a lot of creators not following this rules. They did not communicate with their backers, did not update on progress, did not react to emails, did not address issues, did not tell the truth and in the end did not deliver at all. Which I am fine with by seeing my money as a investment in a possible product. Not every small creator is able to become a big company. I’m fine with that. But the real problem with Kickstarter is that in a lot of chases where a project went down the drain, there would have been a lot of situations when Kickstarter should have stept in, remind creators of their duty’s and/or even help them to fulfill a project. Or as seen from the other side, help backers to receive their products or get back at least a small amount of their money. But in all the years all the project I have seen going bad, never ever I saw Kickstarter stepping in or even react to any complainant on any issue in any project. They simply don’t do that. Often it would already had been helpful during the open funding process, but that’s probably the least expecting time for them to step in. The more a reject is findet, the more they get. 5% Kickstarter fee on every project. And there are some of them crossing the finish line with way more then a million bucks. I have been on one with over 13 million. Kickstarter then happily joins the party, grab the money and leaves the room without ever to be seen. They are not interested in bringing projects to life and helping aspiring creators to fulfill their dreams, they are just a huge company with the worst customer service I have ever seen! Two years ago Kickstarter locked down my account for a week or so because I have backed out several projects during funding, because I had to pay an unexpected bill. This was the only time I noticed „Kickstarter“ doing something. And they did it because I backed out, so they won’t get their 5% of my money. Some general advices:- most of the time you’ll get a better prototype that has flaws and bugs. Better wait for some later itterations and official release.- if the project will not make it to official release, there are good reasons for that.- A lot of projects have actually been cheaper later on in market than they have been on Kickstarter.- As Kickstarter charges 5% and creators try to keep prices low, they hide the costs in Shipping. I had quite a few projects with shipping costs of 70$ and above. - reseller will ship much cheaper or for free. - if the project went down the drain, let it go! Kickstarter does not provide any help and there are no legal ways to get your investment back. After all a lot of people think they save money by buying something before it floods the market. My experience is that I would have save a lot of money on failed projects, that I than could have invested in the sometimes little more expensive item when it is released and therefore would have gotten a working product with costumer support instead of a prototype with DIY mentality. Not to mention the money lost in stuff that are not working like they should.Help funding creative ideas! That’s a good thing! But I would never again do that on Kickstarter.
