BEWARE- delivery promises not kept!

I ordered a custom necklace from Loanya on 12th Dec, using a promotional Christmas discount code. The order was for a Christmas present, and the site committed to delivery in time for Christmas. It's now 5th January, and the item has still not arrived. I thought the site was English, and it has a logo for DHL. However, having placed my order my payment went through to a German account and my shipping tracking link went to CNE, a Chinese shipping company. I have twice written to Loanya customer services asking for a refund, as the item I bought as a gift has well and truly missed Christmas. Both times I have been brushed off, and told I can't be refunded as it's on it's way to me. I don't think it's reasonable for a company to promise pre-Christmas delivery and then miss the deadline by such a big margin. I appreciate there are global supply chain delays at the moment, but surely Loanya must have known what was possible from their own chosen courier. Also, if I'd known my order was being being fulfilled and shipped from China I wouldn't have risked supply-chain delay and would have chosen a UK-based company instead to make sure my delivery arrived on time for the holiday. Being empty-handed on Christmas day is really disappointing, and arrival some time in Jan is no substitute...
