MK easily competes with the old Campbell Soup Company when salt was king. That was then. We took yet another shot at finding nutritionally good somethings from its expanded roster. Sad to say, just having wrestled with a 2nd batch of minestrone, salt was king in today's soup fresh from the freezer. Following instructions we were full stop at the third tablespoon. In addition to the 700+mg sodium, (it tasted like 7000) the spice was overwhelmingly strong.
Separately, we did have a good time a Thanksgiving or two ago with its Turkey and stuffing. But the earlier palette faded quickly this time. Blah inclusive. We did tolerate the stuffing but learned at first poke at the turkey breast, there was a salt burst to the exclusion of any other flavors. We're done trying. We wish the purveyors well in their venture.
The representative was incredibly supportive. I struggled to place an order online despite having done so many times previously. The representative was friendly and efficient, successfully completing my order without any issues.
Having not visited in a while, we were excited to try a few entrees after receiving an email about a new mix. Unfortunately, the one we sampled last night was quite a chore to finish. While the ingredients were acceptable, it failed to excite the palate. We were left questioning if a chef had actually tasted it before approval for mass distribution. After an earlier disappointment, we approached the Vegetable Stew with hope, but it too fell flat. It felt different this time, possibly due to excessive pepper. Despite a good ingredient list, it was a forgettable meal. Adding frozen green beans and falafel did not help. Another offering from the kitchen that misses the mark.
The company offers a variety of options for a renal diet, but the website lacks user-friendliness. The meal selection process can lead to duplicates. Additionally, while I understand the need for sealed packages, opening the clear wrap has proven nearly impossible, often resulting in minor injuries. The food itself is not very flavorful, which is disappointing even for a renal diet.
