We had a great experience with Team Yousef! It was a challenging move and they handled it within the predicted time. Would recommend again, it was our 3rd move with Magic Movers!
Magic Movers quotation does not match what you land up paying on the day!While the 2 x people that helped us move were great, the cost of the move tripled from the quoted price on the day, leaving us no option but to pay as we were half way through the move. We provided a detailed inventory of everything that needed to be moved upfront, getting a competitive quote with other companies. On the day they: (1) didn't have a "big" enough truck so needed to do 2 loads - adding additional costs through hours/km, (2) we needed to get a lift, half way through the move, even though we had told them in advance that we were moving to the 3rd floor, (3) took additional 3 hours to fetch the lift which was charge at our expense (as they base the quotation off how long the move takes), (4) lastly, don't let them support with bubble wrap as they completely overcharge for this service and do not tell you the cost upfront (providing a huge bill at the end). Overall, while the staff are great, be careful with the quote, it will most likely cost you double/triple than what was quoted.
First off, I want to say I have nothing against the movers themselves — they did a good job and with our help the move went quite fast.However, the corporate side is a different story.Before the move, we clearly explained everything: disassembly/reassembly, packaging for fragile items, number of boxes and furniture. The person on the phone was very reassuring and made it sound like everything was straightforward. What they didn’t do was transparently include key cost drivers in the estimate — especially materials. If I had known I’d be charged ~€200 for a roll of bubble wrap, I would have chosen another company immediately. These costs were intentionally left out of the initial estimate.We also requested a handyman. Instead, 3 movers showed up with no tools. When we asked who the handyman was, they were confused and had to call their boss. In the end, they used our basic tools and only did minimal work (a few minutes of disassembly), yet we were charged for a full hour. With a proper handyman, everything could have been done efficiently and likely in one trip, but instead we had to do two — which is a planning issue on their side that we payed for.The biggest issue is the pricing. The estimate was around €600. The move took 3 hours 40 minutes, yet the first invoice was €1800. After we said we couldn’t pay that, they reduced it to €1500 and then €1400. That alone shows the pricing is not consistent. We still strongly disagreed, but were pressured into paying — the movers would not leave, and we were told the price would increase if we didn’t pay quickly.We paid under protest and honestly felt scammed. The final price does not reflect the actual work done.I would strongly advise choosing a more transparent company that doesn’t rely on low estimates and then drastically increase the price afterwards.
