I’ve been a classical musician my whole life. While I have a deep knowledge/appreciation for music, this program has opened up an entirely new side of the craft and challenged my abilities with the more technical aspect. Being able to see with a different lense, I have seen there is so much more to know and Mastering.com has all of the ins and outs needed to become a professional mixer and mastering artist. I am slowly going through and trying to retain as much as possible and feel confident that I can create a future with this newfound knowledge
Having just finished my 7-day trial, I can say with confidence that the amount and quality of information here is absolutely mindblowing. They do not sell you silver bullets or make unrealistic promises. What they do instead is provide real actionable information that will completely transform the way you think about music production. All of the sudden, you have this moment of absolute clarity, and the blank session syndrome is no longer weighing you down. Their unique approach used in the Reverse Engineer program is nothing short of revolutionary, IMHO. Having tried a lot of different courses and educational programs, both free and paid, this is probably the best I've seen so far. I will definitely come back for more, and I'm looking forward to seeing the new curriculum expected to be added towards the end of 2024. Hats off to the entire team, and a huge thank-you to Mastering.com for this incredible opportunity!
In short: most resourceful, helpful and great community never short of knowledge to acquire!! Worth every penny and minute I've spent so far (about a year consistent, in for 1,5years) and looking forward to all there is to learn about music!In long: I joined TRE summer '23 after a Fix-The-Mix Challenge and really started Jan '24. It's now a year later and joining was one of the best decisions I ever made. Yes. It has its price. But if you are serious about diving in deep - like cell-level deep - you're at the right spot!I was intimidated by the sheer talent that is in TRE already (members as well as mentors) at first as I have never produced, mixed or mastered anything, but the positivity, support and knowledge in this program is absolutely mind-blowing. And everyone is respectful, helpful, friendly and in for a great experience!It is a lot of work, especially starting out blank like me but SO worth it! As long as you are willing to put in the time and are consistent you'll improve - I usually work (my regular job) six days a week and now I'm almost through the Mastering Section. I have learned and improved a lot (especially my hearing). Gained more confidence in my abilities and I am thrilled for the next steps!Much love and respect to the team of Mastering.com and especially Lucy !!
My experience with TRE has been wonderful. When I started I was frustrated with how my music was turning out. I was feeling stuck and discouraged. After a few months everything changed. I felt like I transformed. The training and advice from the teachers and other students really changed the way I make my music from creativity to the technical skills.I am glad I joined and I recommend them to everyone I know who's on their music journey. I appreciate everyone here at TRE. They are totally worth every penny
I can't say enough about Mastering.com. From the time I discovered them through their Fix-the-Mix webinars to the many FREE (yes free) courses, I've grown exponentially in my craft. The The Reverse Engineer (TRE) program is fantastic and the Mentors are great! Another thing to mention is the methods in which they bring students is so refreshing! For Example, I scheduled for a call at one of the Fix-the-Mix events and the people were exceptional! No pressure at all. I can say that because at my initial call, I wasn't ready to sing up due to prior educational commitments. In stead of trying to coax me in, they just said "when your ready, we'll be here". some time later, I was ready and they welcomed me in like I was an old friend. Now, the course! TRE has been a true blessing to me. I have already learned so much and it just keeps getting better. The beauty is, you go at your own pace. I admit, I did find myself "rabbitholing" In the Acoustic Truth (room acoustics) but that was because I was so intrigued but the entire room acoustics process. I learned way more than I needed and my being a overly neurotic mechanical engineer, I took it to a completely unnecessary level. LOL!!! In all seriousness, I can't say enough good about Mastering.com and the people there. Another thing to mention is the Skool community! What an amazing group! So much love and support there. I for one am not the most open person in what I perceive as a social media type environment but I have really gotten into the whole groove. here again, I can't say enough good!In summary:Mastering.com is a great place to learn, collaborate and just be part of a fantastic group of friends!As you can see, as in my opening statement, I can't say enough but since I'm on the border of going to EIPC NOVEL here, I'll leave it right there!~LS~P.S. there's a reason for the 4.9 rating!
I am finishing more mixes much faster and I’m not so attached to what I’m mixing. Plus, I can see myself doing this for a living and enjoying myself. I really didn’t like mixing before but of course this was a mindset leading to procrastination.This program changed my entire outlook and I’m so grateful to have you all as coaches and mentors.---------------------------------When I started this program, I was focused on mixing my own music, and so I wanted to write everything myself to learn how to mix. My thought process was, "well, if I'm going to learn to mix, I might as well learn on my own songs, since I play multiple instruments and I like to write."I'm only just now realizing that writing and recording and arranging my own songs will waste unnecessary time while I'm learning how to mix. Also, I wasn't really enjoying mixing songs as much as writing and recording them, so it was a form of procrastination.Now, that I'm in this program, I have the opportunity to mix other people's songs. I'm mixing more tracks and finishing more and I'm seeing more rapid progress in my mixes.
Since I started this program I have been very intrigued by the professionalism of the staff members. Though it isn’t a short road to success, it’s truly an inspiring experience which is fun but very in depth with their teachings. Come in and stay true to the process, keep moving forward and the day will come when you can look back on the journey to success 😎
Everything about Mastering.com is amazing! TRE is so helpful to understanding different aspects on making music and promoting. I love how they help you learn to enjoy your work as well as helping you find a way to make income too. If you join TRE you learn the process backwards but it makes sense when you do it(so cool). MP101 is great for starters who want a feel for mastering, mixing and production. The mentors are so helpful and talented no matter where you go. They are always so kind! The community is one of the best communities I’ve ever seen as well! It’s like family and no matter what you are struggling with or want to learn about they will help you the whole way out. The people that help them out from behind the scenes are also amazing too. They do side events which help you understand more of something or gets you into trying something new. This has been one of the best things I have ever done for my career.
