I've been trying to get lined up with their orientation folks for 3 weeks now with not the greatest experience. The salesman for the initial point of contact just stood me up the first week. I had to wait another week to get together on a time we could both do the call. After talking with him I was interested enough to do the 1 hour orientation, so I moved my schedule around to be able to book one of the times available another week out. The day of I still hadn't had contact with agent #2. I reached out and ask agent #1 to verify I was booked. He said agent #2 would be reaching out to me, which he eventually did, only to tell me he was all booked out that day and we'd have to look for a new time next week.Forgive me, if I feel a certain kind of way about this lack of efficiency from a company asking me to spend $7,800.00 all up front.I have a lot of questions to be answered before I'd have that much faith in any company, but one that cannot even get the booked dates for a simple meeting right....I will say that the free training they've directed me to has been nothing short of excellent. I'll try one more time and if I purchase I'll update this review.
I've been learning from them for over a year and officially with their 'The Reverse Engineer' program since November 2023. My experience has been that their training materials are top notch and very current. They've already updated the parts of the course multiple times to keep with the constantly changing information in the industry, which I really appreciate. They really do care about helping people achieve their goals. There are multiple opportunities to go on live with mentors every week and they are always available for questions outside of these planned sessions. I've learned more from them in a year than I have learned in the past 5-10 years on my own.
I have been at Mastering.com for 1 year now. Due to work and other things I am very behind on the course, but I kid you not, this is the real deal, these guys know exactly what they are doing and the know exactly what they are talking about. The price is a bit steep for a course, but they offer financing and it was 1000% worth it. They are great people, great teachers and very knowledgeable. Don’t believe me? Check my music out, it is greatly thanks to them @substant.music
I am a singer/songwriter/musician wanting to have more knowledge and control over producing my own music. I took a few free 3-day workshops with mastering.com, then signed up for their (paid) 6-week "Music Production 101" course. I'm about half-way through, struggling to keep up because there is so much content and I have a lot of other things on my plate, but I know I have access to all the content after the class is officially over, so no worries. The instructional videos, guided exercises, and downloadable reference sheets are great, and the live interaction with instructors on group mentoring calls is also great. Special shout-out to Nick who spent an hour on a Zoom call with me individually to help with some Pro Tools issues. It doesn't matter what DAW you use, but they teach the concepts with Logic and Studio One. I highly recommend this course to any beginners wanting to get into audio production. I absolutely have already gotten my money's worth.
It's an amazingly well structured program to get you from zero to pro.You get everything, no cutting corners. It starts with getting you to have the best hearing environment to work in. "Accoustic Truth" we call it around here. And then, you go to town on listening skills, what crucial things to pay attention to, how to handle every situation, etc.You get the theoretical videos on all the concepts and practices, you get the cheatsheets to implement them for the assignments, you get videos of the mentors applying the info, the tracks to work on and lots of zoom calls with the mentors to help you out with anything. No stupid questions. Also, and maybe most of all, an amazing community of helpful, talented and beautiful people to share with.Living in a third world country it was not easy for me to make the decision to enroll, but in the end I did, and I have no regrets. This is the best I could have done.
The community is so great, everyone is striving to be better, and everyone helps each other out all the time! The information in the school program itself is great, but beyond that, the community as so much to teach as well! from one person in the community alone, taught me information that took years and years of research/ trial and error to figure out, and he just told me about the info for free, just because I asked the community a question.
This is an excellent study course with brilliant teachers who are so passionate about what they do! Having tried college for a couple of years, I can say this is so much better.Unlike some college teachers who teach what they don't do (what they might have just learned through books), the Mastering.Com crew are people who have really worked in the music biz for a long time and truly experienced what they talk about. The whole community is strong, supportive, and super helpful! I love being a member of it.
The 2-years-long TRE program is not for everyone ;) I mean it requires quite some effort and commitment for sure, but is one of the best things ever happened to me!! I'm about to end my first year and I gotta say the curriculum is phenomenal, the coaching calls are very informative and all tutors are always very attentive and prepared. The community is also a true jewel imho, a safe place of like-minded people where you can get help and support on everything you need. Highly recommended!
