We have now been in our apartment for 18 months and I’m glad to say we have no regrets about moving to a retirement apartment. Initially I missed doing my garden but I’ve come to appreciate the garden that is here and can enjoy it without having to do the work. Not having to think about outside maintenance is a bonus. The apartments have a manager who is interested in our lives without being intrusive. She is always ready to help if needed.
My parents have lived in Humphrey Court in Stafford for a few years now and I think its the best move they could have made. The facilities are lovely, its clean and warm, the gardens are beautiful, and the sense of community is strong and friendly. The house manager Jessica is kind and helpful and has gone above and beyond for my family. The guest suite is comfortable and excellent value. I would recommend to anyone looking to relocate in their retirement as it really does tick all the boxes.
My mother-in-law has been a long time resident of the Darlington family and has absolutely enjoyed every minute of her time here. She made so many new friendships over the years. The property itself is immaculate and Alli the manager is an amazing person who looks after both the residents and their guests like they were her own family.
We have stayed in the guest suite on several occasions and found it comfortable and like a little home from home.
Thank you to Alli and all the residents for making my mums time here so special.
We moved into Rykeneld Court in July 2025, and have never regretted our decision to move here.
Settling in has not been an issue. Our apartment manager, Kadenia, has always been very helpful with any advise that we needed.

when I first moved into the complex a few years ago, everything was great. It was a well-managed place with friendly staff and neighbors. However, due to the disruptive behavior of one resident, the atmosphere has changed drastically. No one wants to come out of their apartments in the evenings. As soon as the property manager leaves at 3:30, everyone stays inside and locks their doors. The lounge, which used to be lively in the evenings, is now deserted. The management claims they cannot assist, leaving residents to either endure the situation or live in fear.
We want to express our gratitude to our house manager at the retirement apartments where we have resided for nearly two years. She has been an incredible asset to the community, showing kindness and care to all residents. She is always ready to assist with any issues we encounter. We truly enjoy living here.
This Independent Living facility is exceptionally managed, featuring friendly and helpful staff. They go above and beyond to assist residents. The team has fostered a lively community, and I am truly grateful to have transitioned here from my previous solitary life. As I celebrate my 80th year, I couldn't be more satisfied.
This is a heartfelt tribute to the incredible Chef Bernie, also known as Bernadette. Yesterday, we hosted a Family and Friends Christmas Lunch at midday. Anyone who signed up could bring three guests. The list had been circulated for a few months, and she consistently reminded everyone during coffee mornings and community meetings to register. While I don’t have the exact count, there were over sixty attendees, a significant undertaking for Bernie and her team to manage. Along with our Estate Manager, Sharon, she prepared the Bistro with additional tables and chairs the day prior, ensuring the space was appropriately sized to accommodate so many guests. When the day arrived, over seventy people showed up, all dressed for a festive lunch with their families and friends. I’m amazed at how she handled the chaos of preparing food while also seating the unexpected extra guests, including individuals in wheelchairs who needed special access. Following the main course, our choir performed a Flash Mob, prompting a pause in food service as they serenaded our guests with beautiful Christmas songs for half an hour. The food was exquisite, and Bernie’s team truly excelled. To top it off, as the last guest departed, the Bistro was promptly cleaned, tables wiped, the floor swept, and all extra furniture returned to storage. An outstanding job, thank you.
Kudos to the fantastic team, led by a dedicated individual, at the local establishment. My father consistently praises the staff, always noting their willingness to help. This week, amidst the water issues in the area, the team has truly gone above and beyond. Their hard work is commendable and must have been challenging. Thank you, team... you all are exceptional.
