Food arrived lukewarm

The meals arrived semi-cold, six days after they were supposed to be shipped. The 'Food Safety' representative assured me the food was safe, but I received conflicting information. The package had only a couple of small ice packs, and none were in contact with the food. If I had followed their advice, it could have led to health issues. We had to discard two weeks' worth of meals and request a new shipment.

Subpar quality and nutrition

The food quality is poor with small portions, seemingly lacking fresh ingredients. Canned vegetables? The protein choices are unbalanced and not appealing. For over $8 per meal, I'd rather choose a frozen grocery store option. Still, it's a free benefit from my health plan, but only if you live alone and can barely microwave or wash dishes.

Diet not as expected

I understand people have different tastes, but I was supposed to be on a Mediterranean diet, and what I received is not reflective of that. Who wants genetically modified food? Instructions for freezing are needed since the food lasts up to three weeks, indicating it's packed with preservatives. I'm supposed to be on a low-sodium diet, but this isn't low sodium. The ingredients are unappetizing. I'd be healthier eating fast food.

Frustrating experience with meals

My insurance offered these meals, which seemed like a great idea since I struggle with meal prep. I've noticed that the meals aren't packaged properly, arriving warm and unappetizing. When I addressed this with the representative, they were unprofessional and rude about replacing meals. Two ice packs for 14 packages aren't sufficient to keep food cold. The quality is poor; the meat, vegetables, and even desserts are unappealing. The supervisor I spoke to dismissed my concerns. I may have to cancel and seek another provider for my health.

Repetitive meals

I receive the same meals each week, mostly Mexican-themed. I regret not choosing a different post-hospital delivery service. I ended up giving half of my meal to a neighbor, who also wouldn't eat it.

Not enjoyable for me

Everyone has different tastes, but for me, these meals were the worst I've tried. They took a long time to heat, and the plastic covering was too tightly sealed. I don't plan to use them again. They were provided by my health plan post-surgery, but I would prefer a simple sandwich instead.
