I have ceased my business but still needed MYOB only to receive payments for a few outstanding invoices. After a few months of keeping my account like this, paying $150 every month felt extremely wasteful.
I requested to downgrade to MYOB Lite and was told the downgrade was done and that the migration team would contact me. I was also clearly reassured that I would not be charged $150 again.
I followed the migration team’s instructions to back up my MYOB file, only to be told later that my file was too large and that the allowed backup size was unrealistically small. This was never explained upfront.
As a result, I ended up being charged for BOTH plans. I submitted complaints through MYOB’s online system but never received a response.
Then I was charged again for BOTH plans.
This feels like a complete trap. If you try to downgrade, you end up paying double. There is no proper support and no accountability.
I will never use MYOB again and will never recommend it to anyone. No surprise that MYOB is losing customers to Xero.
The representative that looked after me was excellent, she was professional and easy to follow and had my case in hand of helping me with migrating of an existing MYOB account to another.
A tremendous help as there had been a few glitches prior to her picking up my case
The customer service is extremely disappointing; they complicate the process of canceling a subscription. I informed them that the company went out of business in November and the registration was canceled. They have removed or obscured the cancellation option from their website. They continue to send invoices and make calls demanding payment for a registration that no longer exists. The representative I spoke with needs better training to grasp these fundamental issues and fulfill simple cancellation requests without unnecessary delays and transfers.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROVIDER! Their product is subpar, and be aware that they trap customers with an auto-renewal clause in their contracts. If you fail to notify them at the precise moment, you’re stuck for another 12 months. Additionally, expect a response to any inquiries to take 4-6 weeks. The worst experience I've ever had!

Let's address the significant issue: CANCELLATION. This is where the company's manipulative tactics become evident. While there's a supposedly online cancellation option, it's widely known that it rarely works. Instead, you're forced to call to cancel. For an online service, the expectation is that account holders should be able to cancel online. The company fails to meet this expectation by making the process nearly impossible. The call is framed as a chance to help meet your business goals, but it's really about retention, making it cheaper to keep a customer than to acquire a new one. Expect to be put on hold for ages, and have your details ready while you prepare to state your reason for cancellation clearly. Their staff are polite, but the process is frustrating. I won’t be using this service again.
