This company will do anything not to pay out a claim. They use BS reasons for making their determinations. For a recent claim I had with them their adjuster, my insurances adjuster, and the police had all said it would be shared fault. Upon the completion of their “investigation” they cited a lack of “scuff marks” to my vehicle as to why they shouldn’t have to pay. They have ridiculous rates. And according to many complaints through the BBB they are know to not pay out in claims. Buyer beware.
Been with nationwide 20 years about seven years ago we had some freak weather in our area and it caused damage to our roof of the garage. Did one claim in 20 years Last month got a letter in the mail from nationwide that they had concerns about a camper that was parked in our driveway with a tarp on it so I called them to see why I got the letter due to not having a camper in the driveway. They said in July of 2023 they had a company take aerial photos of our Home and property Let’s just say their concerns spiraled into my roof my property, my garage,operable vehicles, my seven year-old roof needed washing they didn’t like the color of it. My garage needed painting. It’s actually a barn, and you can’t leave brush on your property it has to be all cut up and stacked neatly. They didn’t believe me that I had replaced the roof on garage so I had to send pictures. Meanwhile after I done all of this then they found more things. Basically the guy said that they were going to cancel me in October , apparently they think after you’ve been with them for 20 years you might file a big claim so they’re gonna drop you think twice before you go with nationwide they are not on your side
The entire insurance market is a catastrophe. Accidents are increasing because they hand out drivers licenses like after dinner mints. Law enforcement is a thing of the past and everyone is paying for it. If that isn't bad enough you have incompetent customer service terrible online services with apps. I've been with this company for forty plus years. It has steadily eroded. I'd like to say I'll be moving on to another more competent organization but the are hard to come by in the industry.
I am very disappointed with nationwide service I been with them for 6 years and 2 months and they blocked my account last Friday ! Since then i can’t get into my saving account or nothing else . I am struggling with finical money because of this and my wedding coming up next month I need my money from my saving account. But my account is in review ! Very angry and disappointed and stressed and customer service is really bad !!

They also mentioned that Muffler Man was their new authorized partner.However, when I spoke to Muffler Man, they expressed discomfort with Nation Wide’s approach. They mentioned that Nation Wide insisted on using used parts for the repairs, which they could not guarantee. Muffler Man’s hesitation only added to my growing concerns about the quality and reliability of the warranty service.Unreasonable Documentation DemandsNation Wide then requested the last three oil change receipts. I promptly sent them in, but they rejected the most recent one because it lacked the mileage. After correcting this with the oil change provider and supplying additional documentation, Nation Wide still found reasons to deny my claim. They questioned my driving patterns based on the dates and mileage, even though their calculations were incorrect.When I pointed out their mistake, they simply responded that they would not participate in my claim, leaving me with no assistance and more frustration. Subsequent emails to their customer service have gone unanswered.Misleading and Untrustworthy PracticesThroughout this ordeal, Nation Wide has been uncooperative, misleading, and dismissive. Their refusal to honor the warranty, despite my compliance with their requirements, shows a complete lack of integrity and customer care.Additionally, it’s telling that they have cycled through four authorized repair shops in my area, all of which severed ties due to Nation Wide’s questionable practices and insistence on subpar repairs. I wouldn’t be surprised if Muffler Man also ends their association soon.Conclusion: Avoid Nation Wide at All CostsBased on my experience, I strongly advise against purchasing a warranty from Nation Wide. Their lack of support, unreasonable demands, and insistence on using inadequate repair methods make them an unreliable partner for vehicle protection. You’re better off saving your money or finding a reputable company with a proven track record of honoring their commitments.If you’re considering a warranty provider, do thorough research, read customer reviews, and choose a company that truly stands by their service. Don’t make the mistake I did by trusting Nation Wide with your vehicle’s care.
After nearly 20 years with Nationwide, I will be closing my accounts with them. Not once but twice have I had issues where my wages have not been paid into my account. The customer service online don’t care and I was told that ‘if there is not enough money to cover payments, they will bounce and you will be responsible for claiming any charges back’ Totally unacceptable and uncaring. Shocking treatment of loyal customers.Instead of paying out £100 a year, why not take this money and improve your systems so that you can be a bank which functions as a bank should. At the most fundamental level, you should be able to receive payments!
Nationwide adjuster was soooo slow and would not answer as to claims on my mom's house. It took years and my mom did pass away waiting for the roof to be approved ..finally it was approved and snow and ice ensued and the roof was put on this spring. Nationwide now said that the roof that was put replaced one month ago is out of the 2 year range. The adjuster is no longer there of course and they will not provide the final payment as it is 25 days past the limit. These people are arent helpful and never have been and have screwed our family and several others over.
