Review Time
Network solutions recently took over webhosting co. Sitebuilder. I had 3 websites with Sitebuilder. When Network Solutions took them over, I lost all of my websites and all their data. I contacted Network Solutions help, who said they would look into it. After a week and no action I contacted them again, got the same response and again another week later. Its now been 4 weeks, my websites are GONE and I have to start again. I will never deal with any company associated with this brand.
I am writing this to warn every entrepreneur: avoid Network Solutions! They auto-renewed 'Starter Hosting' and 'Domain Privacy' on my account twice—on February 5th and March 1st—charging me $27.23 each time without any clear notification.
The most ridiculous part? My entire business, Carbonicase, is hosted on Shopify. It is technically impossible for me to even use their hosting services, yet they charged me for them twice. When I contacted support to request a refund for these unusable services, they hid behind their 'monthly renewal policy' and refused to return my money.
Because of their greed and refusal to issue a simple refund, I had to file a chargeback with my bank. This resulted in my business credit card being canceled and all my banking security being reset, causing a massive operational disruption to my store. They don't care about their customers; they only care about their 'policies.' Disgraceful experience.
I have had many interactions with Network Solution techs on several different issues. With every interaction the techs have been great. Very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable.
All, but one, issue was resolved in one contact. The one issue that was not initially resolved required closing everything, clearing out browser history, etc. and then coming back online to finish up the needed changes. This issue was something that I knew would not resolved in session.
Once you purchase a domain from this company, be prepared for a steady stream of promotional emails encouraging you to buy additional products or renew your domain months in advance. In my case, I began receiving renewal reminders nearly four months before the actual expiration date.
What’s more frustrating is that you cannot unsubscribe from their monthly “statement” emails or renewal notices—even after requesting to do so. Their only solution was to suggest setting up an email filter to automatically send their messages to my junk folder.
Below is an example of a recent email urging me to renew, even though my domain isn’t due until mid-May:
"Renew Early and Save
Get 40%* on a new product when you renew today
Renew your service now and save 40% on a new product: additional domains, email, hosting, and more!"
If you value working with a company that respects your inbox and listens to customer concerns, you may want to consider other options.
Fluff Response: As you can see from Network Solutions’ generic template response below, it’s unlikely anything will actually change. Their marketing team seems more focused on filling inboxes with promotional offers than addressing the issue. I’ll probably receive another call from a representative assuring me they’ll “look into it,” but based on past experience, nothing will come of it. Then, in a week or so, I expect another renewal email offering a discount followed by a "Monthly Statement" full of offers for other products. I will not renew with this company.
First of all, this review is based on my one interaction with a customer service/ renewal expert representative named Neil. Today, I called the company in an effort to navigate the new online control center & receive answers to my growing questions in regards to the new transfer to Network Solutions. Neil was very pleasant, approachable, knowledgeable, and patient! He took the time to listen to my concerns and even investigate to provide realistic expectations. For over 2 years now, I have not been able to reach my former website hosts by phone to talk to an actual person. They only offered online chat. So, I appreciate the option to speak with Neil today via phone. I am very pleased with Neil's demeanor, transparency, and willingness to help. This eased my initial concerns regarding another transfer from my original Fatcow website host. I do not know yet how the transition will impact my current (15 year old Fatcow turned IPage now Network Solutions) business website (s), or pricing going forward since the transfer only took place 4 days ago at the time of this customer service review. I do hope that the company will continue to allow professional representatives to be available, like Neil, because paying customers who rely on straight forward quality, affordable, reliable, consistent service will require it during this transition period & going forward. Honestly, I do feel a little angst, but I'm hopeful.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! ITS 2026.
THEY CHARGE EXTRA MONEY FOR EVERYTHING!!
I WANTED TO FORWARD MY DOMAIN. AND IT COSTS
$12.99 CAD. UNBELIEVABLE. NEVER AGAIN. HUGE MISTAKE GOIN WITH THEM. FIND ANYBODY ELSE BUT THEM. THEY ARE THE WORST!!!!!
The service is absolutely terrible. The repair service is completely incompetent. When you first subscribe, they only give you three days, during which you can request a refund. You can't possibly understand anything about their service in just three days. After four days, when I discovered numerous problems, I requested a refund, but they refused. The service is terrible, the servers are incredibly slow. I do not recommend them at all; they will just cause you trouble and then disappear.
This company just cost me about $2,000 in business if not more. They waited until after my website was finalized to deactivate it even after they even gave me a refund and said I was all good to go. They would not make it correct and therefore my website was down and we'll take over a week to probably get up and running again losing me over $2,000 in business
I will join the others in telling you that I have over $600NZD of unauthorised charges to my credit card for less than 2 months of service, most of which the website was not operational (some SSL issue on their end). Followed by poor customer service and the insistence that no refunds would be applied. DO NOT use this company
Avoid at all costs! This service is a complete waste of time and money. I spent three hours trying to log in, only to be directed in circles by an automated chat system. I ended up using my time on hold to write this review instead.
