Brought an Xbox controller controller that was faulty. Instead of doing what other companies do and replace it the chose to put the customer out and send it away for an assessment with out any replacement. Well I was there for 20 minutes they did the same to 2 other customers. Noel leeming has hone down hill drastically!

I had a very unpleasant experience at the Lyall Bay Noel Leeming store regarding a faulty headset.From the very beginning, the staff member I dealt with was rude and dismissive. Instead of listening to the issue, he became defensive and at one point even accused me of video-recording him, which was completely untrue and highly inappropriate. This made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected as a customer.To make matters worse, I was told that a refund could only be processed if the original purchaser physically came into the store — despite the fact that the purchaser is overseas. This directly contradicted information later provided by Noel Leeming customer care, who confirmed that authorisation via email from the purchaser is sufficient. The store staff repeatedly insisted this would not work.The lack of consistency, poor communication, and confrontational attitude turned what should have been a simple faulty-product resolution into a stressful experience. I eventually had to escalate the issue myself by contacting customer care.Customer service should be professional, respectful, and solution-focused. Unfortunately, this experience was none of those. I expect better from a large retailer like Noel Leeming.
Paid for an iPad at Riccarton Branch. Was told 3 days to deliver and I would be informed by text or email. At new year (approx 8 days later) I went in, was told my iPad still not received but they had one out the back. Complained about no follow up and they said courier issue. Also colour not what I had asked for. Put in feedback online. Given a number and told a reply in 48 hours. After 24 hours email saying was I happy with their resolution. Rang and said no resolution, details taken again and promised a reply from Riccarton store manager. NOTHING. All the while I have been bombarded with specials from Noel Leemings.
I purchase a ps5 Pro console online with a one hour click n collect from the store which said it was in stock. Then a couple of hours later I get a text saying its "enroute to your chosen store" Tracking saying it will be delivered into the store the next day. 5 days later I still have not heard its "ready for collecting" so I just cancelled the order. I will get it for another shop (not NL)supplier who does have it in stock.
Noel leeming advertised Cost plus GST for Super Gold Card holders from 4th to 10th December 2025. I wanted to buy Samsung S25 FE, After entering promo code, the price came up $1044.73 with discount. Would you believe that? PB Tech advertised this same phone for $949 and Noel leeming offer me for $1044.73 , and this is cost plus GST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If there was a minus star option I would pick it. The sales staff have little understanding of NL terms and conditions and then lie about what they said. Customer service is terrible, perhaps because they largely employee the wrong people or training is below standard. I'd say probably a mix of both. I avoid NL these days.NL, employ the right people and train them well. Customers want to deal with people who are good at their job.
