I recently purchased a Steelcase Leap V2 from Offeco.nl.
I want to start by saying that shipping (insured) was extremely fast and efficient, and the chair overall is in good structural condition. The seat itself is very comfortable and generally well preserved.
However, several issues left me disappointed:
- The package arrived in very poor condition, with multiple holes and visible damage.
- There is a noticeable stripe/stain on the seat.
- When rocking the chair and returning to an upright position, the backrest and seat movement feel stuck or sluggish instead of following the body naturally.
- The gas cylinder does not properly support my weight (70 kg, completely within standard range). The chair lowers significantly when I sit down, even after adjusting the calibration screw.
- There are visible marks on the plastic used for lumbar support adjustment.
Considering the price and the reputation associated with this model, I expected better quality control before shipping.
I have contacted customer support and am currently waiting for their response. I hope they will resolve the situation professionally, as I was even considering purchasing additional accessories from them.
At the moment, my experience is mixed: excellent shipping service, but disappointing product condition.
Unfortunately, my experience was a negative one.
- First, the delivery took longer than the stated maximum of 12 working days.
- There are squeaking noises when the chair is turned or leaned back fully.
- Severe rust has appeared on all parts containing screws.
- The upholstery is not the original and is lower quality.
- The backrest height adjustment mechanism operates stiffly and with difficulty.
- The product description (Humanscale Freedom) stated 'full equipment', but the chair only has basic 2D armrests instead of the 3D armrests that would be expected with 'full equipment'.
Bought me a desk chair on this site. Everything went very smooth. I had an issue with the wheels though. The rubber part (touching the ground) broke off after maybe 2 weeks. I mailed offeco and they sent me new wheels within the week. Excellent service!
I can summarize my experience with Offeco as: AMAZING customer support.
I initially purchased a Herman Miller Sayl, which was ok, but not quite there for me (the chair was in perfect condition and was delivered quickly, I just didn't like the model much). I decided to switch it for an Aeron, which support promptly helped me with and made it a very easy process.
To my surprise, after years wishin an Aeron, I realized it's not for me- again, the chair's condition is great, but I didn't adapt to it. I had to go for another exchange and, still, Offeco's team was nothing but supportive to me looking for the right chair for me.
Living in a smaller town, it's hard to try specific chairs before you can buy them, so having such a reliable company to help you find the perfect fit (including talking to you to understand your needs to make the right recommendation) makes all the difference.
Special thanks to Robby, who had a lot of patience with me and demonstrated more empathy than I could've asked for, understanding that a good office chair is something that will dictate a lot of things- your humour, health, productivity, etc, for the years to come.
If you are in the Netherlands as I am, I totally recommend them.
