Review Time
My experience with Olivia Bottega was great and I will review it in detail.Important to know - I never stepped foot in a single bridal shop or tried on a single wedding dress before ordering my dress from OB. I have very particular and picky taste and I disliked approximately 99% of the dresses I was seeing online and at boutiques (via their websites.) UNTIL I found OB. I fell head over heels for their Audrey dress. Love at first sight. We are having multiple micro weddings and this dress lets me have a different look at each one! BTW, every bride should do this because you get to wear your dress multiple times and it justifies the price! Plus with the Audrey mini dress, bolero, and sleeves, I also have a version I can wear every anniversary! Anyway - it was only AFTER I submitted my custom order (I wanted ALL the Audrey pieces), that I saw reviews of some people having shipping and communication issues. I panicked and expressed my concern. Sadie, the rep I worked with the whole time, was the UTMOST professional. She reassured me all would be well, and well, in between panicking and her reassurance, I decided my heard was still set on it, so I took the risk. Though her responses were sometimes delayed (she informs me she only works 3-4 days a week, plus they are overseas and there is a time difference), she was always SO polite and kind and professional. I received my dress right on time per their estimate, it fits perfectly, it is gorgeous, and I am still in love!!! Re SHIPPING, I received automated carrier emails telling me it was in the mail and when it was gonna be delivered, was delivered, etc, so I believe they have improved that side of things. PS I also ended up getting another dress for my civil ceremony, which coincidentally was also from an Eastern European label. I’m officially team Eastern European fashion. At least for my wedding! That one also fit perfect after buying blind. Win win. I now have two wedding dresses, 5 dates I will be wearing them, and like 9 different ways I can customize the Audrey which will be worn 4 times. Anyway the point is - I have nothing bad to say about OB!!!
From the moment I started looking for my wedding dress and found Olivia Bottega’s website, I knew right away that my dress would be from there. I was a bit hesitant about buying a dress online, but I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made. From the price, to the quality, to how delicate and beautiful it is—there wasn’t a single detail I didn’t absolutely love about my dress.
I had a very bad experience! It started off great, until I was informed that the dress I bought was made to order, not ready to ship. The website did not make that clear at any point and was incredibly misleading. They also failed to note in the refund section that not all of my money would be refunded, due to ‘charges’ From that moment, I struggled to get my money back from them. Emails took days to be responded to, the deduction of fees from my refund wasn’t previously stated on the website, the 15-20 working day refund period was ridiculously long to start with, but then there was a ‘delay’ and it went on even longer. I wasn’t informed of the delay until I emailed again to chase it up. The communication wasn’t good enough, the descriptions on the website are not good enough and the time frame for refunds is absolutely not good enough. I strongly encourage people NOT to buy from them online.
My experience was okay. The dress was stunning but had the cheapest, roughest tulle in it that made the skirt so stiff and immovable. The zipper came to me already broken (or maybe just hastily sown in poorly?) and the cuffs snap off with the slightest movement. Honestly, felt much cheaper than what I paid for it. I took it to a mom and pop seamstress, got the tulle removed altogether (seamstress also commented on the bulkiness/choice of tulle), and the sleeves and zipper fixed. I got a lot of compliments on the look of it though!
Communication with staff was awful, phone lines just disconnect, they sent me a dress with inaccurate custom measurements and didn’t offer any solutions. I’m convinced they filter only to show possitive reviews. It’s an expensive (+3k) mistake ordering from here that ruined my big day.
I did not try on one wedding dress before seeing and purchasing their A-Line Wedding Dress Ivanel with Lace Sleeves. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the one. It was perfect, and if I could post photos, I’m sure you would agree!
the dress was beyond beautiful!! The service was great! and I received my dress earlier than they originally mentioned it would arrive. My only complain is that you would think that for a dress costing well over 1k it would be packaged and delivered in a box and not STUFFED into a large plastic bag.
