If you don't want your blinds to fall down and fall apart in 3 years then don't buy from Solomons.The blind construction is light weight (in the bad sense) and installation was incompetent. They used the wrong fixing hardware leaving screws that were so short the threads did not reach the backing plates.After sales service is abysmal ending with a request to email photos of the issue to which they don't even have the courtesy to reply.Steer well clear of this crowd
I would give zero stars if allowed and I'll tell you why. I put in an order for $20,000 worth of Crimsafe security door and window screens to finish off my newly built home; with Solomons Security and Blinds who are located in Cleveland, Brisbane, Australia.And, due to a mixup with the deposit, which was the bank's fault, not mine, the owner of this company, who has a website called onesolomons dot com dot au, decided that right at the last moment prior to installation, right before Christmas, with the house all finished except for these screens, he decided to tell his crew to tell me, that unless I 'forked over the money in cash' they would be leaving the building site and would not return!And, that my deposit (which I had repaid) would be forfeited!!!When I tried to talk to this owner on the phone he would not talk to me, when I tried to explain to the crew that getting $18,000 in cash out of the bank at 4.30pm on a Friday afternoon might prove a little difficult, all they did was repeat what the 'boss' had told them to say.I had to go to my neighbours, my bank, even my local fruit shop and scrounge up the money all in the space of half an hour, just so that I could get these screens on and lock up the house.I didn't appreciate being blackmailed like that, I'd already established the initial deposit mixup wasn't my fault but the banks, I'd already repaid him the deposit and to then be treated like this was horrible.I needed the work done so the house could be locked up over Christmas, not wanting to lose my deposit, or fight for it in the courts, I decided I had no choice but to submit to his demand.Work was done and then the installers left a mess.When the work was reviewed I noticed all the shortcuts that were taken to install the screens and how shoddy in places the work looked.Follow up service requests over the years were always painfully slow to happen, to the point where I eventually contracted someone else who was much more efficient and polite to come and do the servicing.I will never use this firm again. And I would advise any one thinking of getting Crimsafe screens - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!Extremely rude, messy, poor workmanship, and overpriced as well. You have been warned.YEARS LATER...Their response here is 'this is not a verified blah blah' - well dear reader, since I supplied no personal details about myself or the address of the property, it is IMPOSSIBLE for them to make that statement with any degree of fact. And them finishing off with I must be a 'competitor' is just them trying to fool you - don't believe their BS. As I said, you've been warned.
