I’m very disappointed with my experience shopping from the Original Penguin online store. I purchased a jacket nearly two months ago, but the whole process turned into a nightmare. I returned the item almost a month ago and still haven’t received my refund.What’s worse is that their customer service has been absolutely useless—no helpful responses, no clear timeline, just generic replies that go nowhere. There’s no accountability, and it feels like they don’t care once they’ve taken your money.I expected better from a brand like Original Penguin, but this experience has completely ruined my trust. I won’t be shopping with them again, and I can’t recommend them to anyone. If you’re thinking of buying from their online store—be very cautious.
I will not able to the order because of deadline that I will be out of town. During the order placement I left a note for Original Penguin to deliver ASAP but Original Penguin did not respect my request. I am disappointed that your business Original Penguin picked the cheapest delivery option for FedEx SmartPost Economy. The shipping option created packed by Original Penguin action shows means you do not value my time and Original Penguin does not value me as a customer. FedEx supposed to deliver it to me today but it diverted to another town Davenport FL and stuck more days in Florida due to cheapest delivery economy option that Original Penguin made. I called FedEx and they said delay the delivery cheapest option by Original Penguin so I request to re-route the package back to Original Penguin warehouse in Miami FL because I will be out of town for vacation over a month.Impossible to contact customer service by phone that operated by Perris Ellis corporation in Florida and customer service real live person is not available online and never resolved it anyway. Original Penguin customer service sucks! There is only robotic customer service operating. I disrespect Original Penguin how they treat customers.
Look, I gave a terrible review previously (now deleted). Yes, their logistics need work, and some processes could use a service designer's loving touch. But hey, the support team was great, and my problem was resourcefully resolved. I'm giving them 5 stars up from 1 because I love their clothes. Hopefully, if they read this, they will invest in having someone look at the ordering, returns, and editing of orders. Thanks, support team, especially Sarah! Amazing work!
Wish I could give zero stars. Initial order was delayed with half of it cancelled. I received an apology and a $25 gift card. I went to use a discount code and gift card on another order. They ended up cancelled all but 1 item on that order and then didn’t refund me properly stating that the $25 apology gift card was a discount code and spread it across items they couldn’t fulfill. I went to chat with customer service as it’s the only option other than email. I was told the same thing twice and continued to try and explain my perspective and they didn’t acknowledge any of it and then disconnected the chat. Poor way of retaining customers.
The Order hasn't been shipped after almost a month after purchase. Contacted customer service 3 times, all 3 times they told me they had an overwhelming amount of orders and warehouse issues but would try to get my order processed asap. Empty promises and shameful tactics by a supposedly reputable company. You even get an email by the “CEO” thanking you for the order. Instead of sending emails, they should fix their atrocious order fulfillment issues.Will request a cancellation and never purchase from them again. I will even avoid their other brands like perry ellis because of similar issues.
Never received refund for returned item. I received a golf jacket that I purchased from them. The item was low quality and poor fitting. I used their enclosed FedEx return label to return the item and never received a refund. They claimed they never received the return. Buyer beware.

I didn’t look closely of the boxers before the 1st time wash. (We always wash the new clothes before wearing) My husband surprised to find out there’s no “fly front pocket” of the underwear from Penguin. How awkward is that? He never had bought anything like this before, neither had I. He didn’t complain anything, but I felt extremely sad. I couldn’t return these since I washed them already. And I have this urge to write to you.If the designer didn’t design the “fly”, then why would you put a fake “fly” in the front? From the picture on the box, I could never tell it’s not a real “fly”. I wouldn’t buy it at the first place if I knew there’s no “fly”.Thank you for your time of reading my email.Hope this feedback would somewhere give you a little bit help for your future marketing advertisement idea. Love the quality of the sweatshirts…have bought a bunch. However, for a company that has NO stores in many states, including the DC area, their return process is horrid. They charge $6 (ok, fine…although lame since so few stores) and then after a week of shipping they take another 2+ weeks to process returns. How long does it take to open a box and hit a few buttons to process a return? As another reviewer said, it’s 2023 and it’s time to modernize their processes.
Original Penguin is very expensive.You might see something that's $79.00 but now $39.99 with a sale. If you somehow add a 10% or 30% coupon, you'll still be spending between $30 to $40 still.For example; Subtotal: $39.99Order Discount: - $12.00Shipping Ground (3-6 business days): $7.00Sales Tax: $2.28Order Total: $37.27You'll need to spend $50 in order to get free shipping and even then Original Penguin system doesn't automatically give you free shipping. You have to physically click on the "Free over $50" option when you have over $50 worth of item(s) in the shipping tab in checkout. Very scummy business model.
