Never...i repeat..never trust Origin internet
They are a literal joke
I was having issues with my internet for months, with connection issues and outages daily, they transfer you to the next person who transfers you to the next person and nothing is done about it.
I eventually had to go to the ombudsman to get a solution as after weeks of back and forth and waiting for them to send someone out to look at my connection, no one came out as its wasnt convenient for them and i ended up getting a total refund for my account, in which they still tried to make me pay for half of it.
It effected my work as i work and family as i work from home and they didnt refund the full ammount, including the modem they sent out which aslo had issues
Save yourself alot of stress, time and money and go with someone who knows what they are doing
I reluctantly changed internet providers to origin, toke over a week to even change get home and no internet after getting the text it was active, now ive been on hold for over an hour and a half!!! Try to fix this on a Friday afternoon, tried their fancy press 9 to get a text message with their live chat..... with a AI robot after answering all the questions I got told its been escalated to a team member and they will be in contact, well that was an hour ago so dont know how thats skipping the phone line! Back on hold for god knows how long i wish I didnt change from IINet.
After years with another power company and over paying. It was such great deal with Origin Energy, it took away the stress of a power bill coming. The service is professional easy to understand the power plans. It is well worth changing to Origin Energy.
I’m happy for the work done by the retention team to provide the way for me to return to Origin.. that’s a given, but, I do wish that this could have been achievable without me having to leave you, especially since I tried my best to stay with Origin. Please take this on board for when my contract expires in 12months.

My experience was great. I spoke with Aman from the Electricity supply department about a new plan for my electricity supply now that we have installed a solar battery for our house. [Today: 30 January 2026.]
Aman was able to recommend a plan which as he and I both said was a win/win one for our house and for Origin and the community as we have joined the Virtual Power program.
The process of joining was complex, requiring a lot of information about our battery which was difficult to [physically] access due to grids and other obstacles on the battery casing.
Aman was infinitely patient and helpful as we went through the process which took a good 30 minutes.
I can't recommend his customer service skills and basic sound personality traits enough. He showed considerable emotional intelligence as well as a thorough knowledge of his subject area.
He made what could have been a stressful process easy, to the point of being enjoyable because of his people skills.

Excellent customer service 👏 👌 👍 Requested a better plan than available & was granted an exceptional plan. Comparing the current plan against the new plan offered by Origin Energy service agent Yurri, exceeded my expectations. Analysis of this plan revealed significant savings which I immediately adopted rather than wait until expiration of my current plan. After a frustrating experience weeks ago with an unnamed representative about my gas bill, today I encountered a truly exceptional support team member. This individual went above and beyond to not only resolve the issue but also to compensate for the earlier negative interaction. Given my current health challenges, which are quite significant, everything feels overwhelming. However, dealing with such a capable, professional, and empathetic representative during this difficult time has made a world of difference. I am incredibly grateful for the support.
I'm baffled by the positive feedback! My experience with this service has been awful. Understanding the billing process is challenging, and the support team is not helpful—they just tell you what you want to hear without resolving any issues. Things were great when I first signed up; they were very supportive for the first two years, but then it all changed dramatically! I'm definitely switching to a more reliable provider. They reel you in, get you signed up, and then take your money! PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THIS SERVICE AND CONSIDER THE DRAWBACKS (there are many) BECAUSE I WISH I HAD!
I called twice today. The first representative was not very helpful, but the second one was fantastic. They set up my account and ensured everything was in order, even following up the next day with a message to confirm the power was on.
The process was made simple, although I would have preferred speaking to a live person since I lean towards traditional methods. It seems like remote chat is the norm nowadays, which I believe is a missed opportunity for better customer service. Nevertheless, we managed to get through it, which is what truly matters. I still don't understand why this process is necessary every year. Why is it that only one utility requires customers to go through this annually? Regardless, I appreciate the assistance for someone like me.
