Quick and Helpful Response

I received a response in no time and was also presented with an alternative option regarding my subscription cancellation. I was very satisfied with the promptness and friendliness of the customer service team.

Beware of hidden subscription fees

This service lures you in with a $0.99 charge for 'One week access' to a single document, only to hit you with a $29.95 fee a week later. They automatically enroll you in a subscription without your knowledge. While they may eventually issue a refund if you persist, I received multiple emails stating they couldn't help initially, so my recommendation is to be persistent. It seems that many others have experienced this issue over the years, and while the company acknowledges the lack of transparency, they haven't made any changes. In my opinion, their business model relies on tricking customers into unwanted subscriptions, hoping they won't notice the charges. I suggest opting for a different service that offers free access without the need for sign-ups or accounts.

Unexpected Charges and Poor Communication

I purchased what I believed to be a one-time use for $0.95, but a month later, I was charged $71 CAD. Their terms should be much clearer and more transparent. I reached out to them about the issue, and they replied, saying they were investigating it. They asked for any additional comments, but since I had none, I waited. Later, I received another email stating they were closing the request due to my lack of response. This is both unprofessional and unacceptable. I have now sent another email and am awaiting their reply. If the charge had been around $30, I might have let it go, but $71 is outrageous, especially as a student.

Unauthorized charge without usage.

I was charged $30 USD without ever using the service! I requested a refund, but it was denied! This feels like a scam.

Deceptive practices lead to customer dissatisfaction.

Many seemingly positive reviews are from those who received refunds after being misled into signing up for memberships. While I appreciate the refund for the subscription I didn't intend to join, it feels like the least you could do. The '95c 7-day access' is actually a trial for an expensive auto-renewing subscription. Offering refunds or access does not make up for the time and stress spent resolving this issue. It’s disappointing to see exploitation of those who are already struggling. Ignoring numerous complaints reflects unethical business practices. I hope you reconsider your misleading strategies.
