Review Time
Ordered a sheet (small one 50cm x 30cm) on Mon 27th October, paid £19.95 for Next Day delivery as you do when it is urgent. It is Mon 3rd November, nothing has arrived. I've had no communication other than the order confirmation email on 27th when I placed said order. I emailed on Sat 1st November, a ticket has been created. I called this morning at 11.10am, cannot get anyone on the phone and can't leave a message to get a call back as the answer machine advises. I really should have read the reviews before ordering. Expensive lesson
First time purchase from this company and I won’t make the mistake again.I ordered midday on Monday as I needed a glazing sheet for Wednesday as a window was being removed for repair. No problem ordering on the website and I paid extra for express delivery. I got an email invoice and that was it.I phoned up on Wednesday morning to get a delivery time and was told it was still in the warehouse and wasn’t being delivered until Thursday 23rd via overnight courier. I explained this was too late, it was to cover a removed window and cancel the job as I would have to buy something else to make it watertight. They wouldn’t listen to that and said it would be delivered Thursday. Customer service is not a strong point.I had to buy materials to make it watertight, so the job costs have increased.Thursday 23rd came and went with no delivery. I sent an email and they didn’t reply. I had to buy more materials to cover the window and make it more permanent.Friday 24th I emailed again, telling them to cancel as they hadn’t kept to their part of the contract. Again no reply. At half three on Friday they attempted delivery, no point at all as the window opening was temporarily covered and had been since Wednesday. The company website says buying is easy, accessible and hassle free. That is not my experience at all. Also express delivery is not an accurate description.
I ordered a combination of 2 small black Perspex strips and these were fine. This issue was the 900mm by 400mm, 5mm thick glass look polished and buffed with rounded edges. The first delivery of this came and it was just a rough cut clear Perspex sheet neither glass effect rounded corners or polished. I raised this with Perpex UK and they were quick to respond and agreed to replace the sheet. A week or so later the new sheet arrived. This time it did have polished edges and rounded corners. However, still not glass effect and it arrived 5mm longer and 3mm wider than ordered so overhangs the table that it is protecting. At this point I have given up and am writing off the £61.98 and will look elsewhere.If you just want simple clear or coloured Perspex and not too worried about the accuracy then they are fine but they don't seem to have any glass effect Perspex so I would avoid them if this is what you are looking for.
The perspex sheets were cut to size perfectly and delivered well packaged. Unfortunately we measured incorrectly and when cutting it, it cracked. So it's not as strong as I thought it would be and I wish I had gone for the unbreakable. The sheets were quite pricey but I don't think they're cheaper from anywhere else. I would use the company again but buy the unbreakable perspex next time.
The Order was delivered within the timescale advised at the placing of the order. Despite the caveat about dimensional tolerances, the perspex sheet came in exactly to the size requested. The packaging was of of high quality to ensure minimum chance of damage during transport.
