My advisor was fantastic! He had a solid understanding of rabbit-related issues and secured a wonderful rate for my new pet. I verified my rate before bringing my bunny home, and he followed up with me after I received him to assist with my application.
Rochelle's excellent service makes Nationwide Pet Insurance a good choice, though there's room for improvement in their reimbursement process compared to other providers I've experienced. I transitioned from another company in July 2025, and I've been with what was once Veterinary Pet Insurance since 1991 or 1992, now known as Nationwide. As a company that covers various types of insurance, I wonder if this affects their efficiency in handling claims, especially with so many pet insurance options available today, compared to the single provider in the 90s. I've been with them for over 30 years, and I hope that my loyalty is recognized. Rochelle stands out with her courteous approach, although not all representatives match her level of service. I plan to revisit this review later as my pet, Brandy, needs more excitement in her senior years, despite her mobility issues.
Caution for pet owners! After nine years of loyalty and consistent premium payments, my policy was abruptly terminated without a chance to grandfather it. Despite my long-term commitment, there were no meaningful alternatives offered. Instead, they are now promoting a new plan that seems flexible but lacks comprehensive coverage.
The service offers significant value to pet owners. However, I have a serious concern: my dog has an existing policy that I wanted to upgrade. After applying for a newer, pricier plan, I was told I must cancel my current policy first. This leaves my pet uninsured for the entire month of December until the new policy starts on January 1. This is an unacceptable practice that reflects poorly on customer service—upgrading should not require a month without coverage.
This service provides valuable coverage for pet owners. However, I encountered an issue while trying to upgrade my dog's existing policy. I applied for a new, more expensive plan but was told I had to cancel my current policy to proceed. This means my pet will be uninsured for the entire month of December until the new policy starts on January 1. This practice is unacceptable and reflects poorly on customer service—upgrading should not leave pets uninsured.
I have been exploring options for more coverage at a lower cost than my current plan. This provider frequently came up as a top choice, offering significant savings on pet insurance. Consider looking into this provider; it might be the right fit for you too.
I have had a truly frustrating experience with this service. My employer offers pet insurance through a certain provider, which is why I chose them initially, but that decision turned out to be a mistake. I completed my first round of policies and provided my employee ID for payroll deductions. However, one out of three policies lapsed because I supposedly didn't enroll through my employer, despite giving my employee ID. It was confusing since my other two policies remained active. After two months of back and forth, a representative admitted the mistake was on their end, and I wouldn't need to backpay for the lapsed policy. But later, another representative insisted I had to backpay to reopen it. I declined and requested to cancel it to enroll through my employer's site. I created three new policies and intended to keep the original two active for coverage during the transition. I received confirmation emails for the new policies, and all seemed fine until I tried to file a claim after a vet visit. They then informed me that I couldn't have two policies active simultaneously and needed to cancel one, risking gaps in coverage. Additionally, I was told that my employee ID might be incorrect, even though I signed up through the employer's website. When I asked for a notification regarding this issue, they said no, indicating potential cancellation without informing me. The supervisor I spoke with was unprofessional, lacking care and politeness. This has been the most disappointing experience.
