They are violating HIPPA and continuously harassed me for an entire week. They refused to complete my lease process unless I signed a release form with my doctor allowing them to inquire about my mental health. SO ILLEGAL! They even threatened me with their lawyer if I did not comply.
DO NOT USE IF YOU CAN AVOID!! I had to use petscreening for a rental. When i finished filling out all of the info i went to pay and it said my card was declined because i put the wrong cvv number in.. which i double checked and it was not wrong. So i decided to use a different bank card which went through. The next day i checked my account and i was charged on the account that declined and charged on the account that went through!! I will be giving them a call once they open tomorrow and they better get it straightened out!!!
Do not use petscreening.com! I used once with a rental, received emails about renewing but I moved from the rental and did not need so I ignored the renewal emails and then received an email saying "Thanks for renewing" AND MY BANK WAS CHARGED WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! SCAM COMPANY! You cannot get in touch with a live person, do not give them your bank information!!!
Their request for specific info about why I have my emotional support animals is in violation of HIPPA law but they don't seem to care. They are hindering my ability to find a house to rent. I have a note from my doctor, two in fact, and he put his phone number on those letters. Still, they come back asking me for more info. They claim they are operating within the law, but they are not.
Pet screening harasses tenants and asks for reasons why you have ESA animals which is a violation of HIPAA. Despite having a clear letter, they still refused it and asked for the doctor to detail my conditions and asked for the nexus between each animal which is illegal.
I had to go through this screening for a new apartment. I have all the necessary information that has been accepted elsewhere. This screening expects my dr to confirm the letter. 1st, a dr can’t even say if I’m a patient due to the privacy act so no, they won’t get a response. The rude responses and the delay in my lease is a clear harassment of a disabled person, making it difficult to lease an apartment . Which is a Violation of the disability act. Also, I can tell how little they care about the people being screened by their response to the last review.
