Review Time
Dreadful customer, service poor quality workmanship.No goin' to waste too much time on this.. just to the point. ordered loose covers for setee, A very nice lady came out measured up, arrived, lady came out fitted...looked too tight. on inspection one seam was not stitched and had a hole.Sent back. I had to chase, several calls ...eventually after several calls. I was promised a call back...never happened. (still not received to this date)The cover just eventually just arrived back..yes it has been repaired, not very well.Definitely not satisfied with the finish.
I like to support local small businesses and don’t want to do anyone a disservice especially someone like Plumbs who have provided a service to my parents over the years. However, my experience is this: I have been bombarded with adverts from Plumbs stating there is a 50% off offer and/or Black Friday reductions. I have dithered about changing the covers on my late mother’s sofa - which I inherited. She already had Plumbs covers on which to be fair even after several years are in perfect condition, but they don’t fit in with my colour scheme.So with the adverts I took the plunge. However what they don’t tell you in the advert (if they do it is well hidden) that there are only certain fabrics that attract this 50% off offer! Naturally, the one I wanted wasn’t on offer! I did ask the rep to let me know when this one came on offer and he said “it will never be on offer it’s high quality” So hmm let me get this straight. I can only order covers of YOUR choice to qualify for the 50% off offer? Are the adverts then a tad misleading? As said I have no problem with the quality of the covers that I’ve seen. Very robust and well made. I wanted to give people the heads up about the 50% offers.
After our intial enquiry we were contacted and an appointment made in our home. Good selection of fabrics and great advice from the very nice salesman. After ordering the covers arrived in a timely manner and fit our sofa perfectly. We aren't sure about the colour but that was our choice and nothing to do with Plumbs or the salesman!!!
Plumbs provide an excellent service . This is my second purchase of fitted sofa and chair covers and I am very satisfied with the results . The recent order was placed with Sue C and she was efficient and very helpful both when I chose the fabric and when she came to fit the items The new covers arrived in good time and look great .
Appalling workmanship and service! We had our sofa recovered by Plumbs for a second time in 2025 as they undertook a great job some 9 years prior. However this time its been shoddily covered, material tensions not put in so the seats are all baggy and the foam filling is completely inadequate. Raised in mid October 2025 and I am STILL in February 2026 chasing to get this resolved following their third party inspection.
